Some crazy ass shit and Lush's The Smell of Freedom

PPPPFFFFFTTTT (remember what I told you about pfffft?)

People shouldn't be doing that to each other.

Like that's going to stop it.

I popped on some of Lush's Smell of Freedom. It's very fresh. Even after 2 hours. In fact it got fresher, yet lighter. Initially it's very green and fresh smelling. Super brilliant green. With lemon. Bright - is how I want to describe it. What's with me liking these Pledge lemon oils? But I DO like them!
The difference between one hand that has the just dabbed oil and the other had the 2 hour old dousing, is the freshness. The younger dab is flashy and sharp and the older dab is sweet, smooth and ultra feminine. It's like a young girl that has evolved into a sophisticated, and fashionable young lady.

Pfffftt     <<<get that?

What's in Lush's Smell of Freedom?
  • Beginning with fresh, citrus tones: The Smell of Freedom warms on the skin and a complex, spicy and woody scent is revealed.
  • A blend of three perfumes: Fire Tree, Oudh Heart and Old Dehli Station are available seperately online.Main notes: lemongrass, lemon myrtle, neroli, jasmine, ginger, fire tree, clove, black pepper, sandalwood, oudh and orris.

  • It's very nice and fresh.   Super clean. Amazing that it's the blend of three other scents of theirs.

Okay here's the ultimate question. Can he suck his own dick. That's what I want to know and so does about 95% of the men watching this. LOL!!

Me bad. Me so fucking bad.....

    Slap me now.

    I'll hold still. ;)

    Why

does any sporting event on TV throw my husband into nap mode? I'm serious. Racing, football, boxing.........snoring.
Then.....if I turn the channel he wakes up and tells me he's watching that. Uh huh. Through your snoring you can hear that? really? pffffffffffffft

    ( I call BULLSHIT!!!!)

    I knew

the police/FBI etc would catch the Boston Bomber. We're fucking kick ass intelligent in this country and have hard working men and women in the services. They weren't EVEN going to let these perpetrators off. I knew they'd hunt until they were caught. The American Way. I've made a lot of comments regarding 'The American Way." Usually it's to short people, or to make a buck. At least I feel that way sometimes.
It may not be accurate. This makes me inaccurate. Our president is doing his speech now. I like him. I have to admit. I'm Independent politically.

Nope. That's the answer to your question. I know you're wondering.

I'd like to know why they did it.

Ever see that 70's Rock Opera called Jesus Christ SuperStar?

Corny but still great, in a way.

    Yes! It's Fridayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a party tomorrow night for Jeff's sister. She's the one that passed away.
We're taking a cab. Know what that means? We're drinkin'! Pretty sad when neither one of us want to stay sober and drive home. I won't get drunk. I'm a closet drinker. I'd rather drink at home. ;)

I'm gonna get hi, hi, hi, in the midday sun!

Snort. Don't know why I was thinking that. I just feel like staying up late tonight. It won't happen. The sleeping pills (OTC) will kick in and I will be down down down. LOL

My doctor of 6 years dumped me. Yeah, she got an offer to go to another facility that will deal with government paid healthcare and she signed a years' non-compete. So today for my 6 month re-check I had to see an entirely different doctor. I think I'm gonna like her. She's 58 and so she will know what I am going through with entering menopause. Yeah, I know..... TMI.

    Deal with it.

I smelled that Cobra Venom still, on the back of my hand at work today and I even took a shower this morning. It's probably one of the most amazing oils that I have ever smelled. Truly a king amongst kings.

I need to lose weight......says my new doctor. I lost 62 lbs in 4 months once.....when I was 26. I went from a size 16 down to almost a size 3. I need to give up my vices. Salt, beef, butter, beer, chips, buttered popcorn, oil. I suck. At least I don't covet sweets. I think those chicks are doomed!! hahah Just kidding. LOL

     Seriously.

I need to get clean! (Scientology?)

    Bah!

I made Pollock Montreal today. I switched up the recipe a bit. I added tiny sliced serrano peppers and Jeff had a fit. <smirk> Me bad. He'll get over it. I like things spicy! Is that so wrong?

One of my ebay sellers included Sweetarts candy in my pkg. Bad seller. A day before my appt with a new Dr.? You suck.  ;0  Just kidding again. You rock actually. LOL

Montreal Pollock (a fish dish -not a BPAL!) (yes I changed the name around)

I started with frozen pollock. Four fillets. They were getting old in the freezer and they needed cooked, plus combined with the 'advice' of my new doctor', fish kinda fit the bill. I love using little quips in my daily life. Especially from movies.
We finally have a cool gal we just hired who understands my sense of humor. She's Great! She gets the quips. YEAH~!

    Back to the recipe:

    Pollock
    Paprika
    Pepper
    Salt
    Onions-carmelized
    Mushrooms
    Garlic
    Serrano Pepper
    Tomato
    Green Onion
    Parmesan Cheese
    Mozzarella Cheese

This is the mushrooms being added to the carmelized onions. I could have carmelized them more but we need to eat sometime soon on work nights. Poor excuse.

I could have cleaned up my plates/work stations but this is real life people!
The fish with the onions, serrano, mushrooms, and red pepper. This was before I sprinkled parmesan, sliced tomatoes,  and mozzarella on it, and flung it back into the oven.

The finished dish! It was so good. I wasn't so sure the ingredients used would taste good together like that. But they did!!!! It was crazy amazing.

    Woot! Woot!

I finally got some Villainess perfume!! And it's in one of those cool ampule bottles! This one's called Pink Plague. Kicky name, eh? It scent is Tooth-ache sweets - Candy floss. cherry cola, candied apricots, and blackberry jam - numbed with clove, warmed by cleansing incense, and laced with earthen decay. It's amber colored and at the bottom there is some medium brown colored sludge. I love the sludge scents from bpal like Playing With Dangerous Toys. I am going to put some on the back of my  hand. I shook it and now it's not see through anymore, it's cloudy. OOOOooo.....
The stopper is rubber too. I was expecting hard and it was kind of shocking to find it malleable.
Yep! Candy!! And something sharp too. I can smell the apricots and jam. The sharp is the clove but it's a smooth clove probably from the sweetness of this. It's kind of sinister smelling. Like a witch that sells perfumed potions. I do get the earthen decay too but it's not gross like some bpal scents are that smell rotten. I really like this.
I also got some more Moonalisa things and a Violette Market oil and a Nocturne Alchemy oil.  Couple things going into the care package for Missy!! "Woot Woot again!", screams Missy! LOL

This Nocturne oil really intrigues me. It's called Cobra Venom and I can already tell I love it. It's wickedly sultry and resiney. Almost like slap you in the face sexy. I just put some on. WOWZA! It IS freakin sexy. I'm wearing this tomorrow. It's florally resiney, incensey. And spicy. Be-gah!! So different than the candy of Pink Plague. Here's what in Cobra Venom: Egyptian White Carnation and Chinese Pink Carnation essential oils are the base of the Venom, with Chinese Patchouli, Chinese Amber, Egyptian Spun Sugar Accord and Vanilla Musk.

Carnation -yes! Carnation is also a spicy scent to me. So combined with the patch, musk and amber this is super grounded and filthy sweet. I need more of this. This half bottle isn't going to last long.

Tonight I am baking a premade frozen lasagna because it's been raining all day and is just crappy outside. No energy to cook and this way the oven will warm the house. I will be making some garlic bread though.

I just slave away for that man.......

LATER: OMG! I AM LOVING THIS COBRA VENOM!!!

    Posset

Blind picking a Posset tonight. I swear, when I open my Posset ammo box it's pure heaven spilling out and into my nose. It's a lot more foodie, sweet,  and florally than opening a BPAL ammo box. Bpal's boxes are resinicious. New word.

    Gingerbread Crackhouse

Smells just like gingerbread cookies. The first bite is tangy but after that it just melts into bliss.

Then it fades. Into nothingness. Seriously. I only get a faint hint on the back of my hand and it's only been 20 minutes.

    Quite disappointing.

    Night.

    Friday, April 12, 2013

    To me

the expression ppffft is the F word. So everytime you see pffft, say FUCK! Then you will know my pain.

    Another BPAL blind pick!!

    Pink Moon 2005

I know BPAL has a lot of different 'moon' scents. And I mean A LOT. I don't think I have many of the moon scents so I don't know if there is an underlying theme amongst them. I know there's Strawberry Moon, Sugar Moon, Storm Moon, Flower Moon, Milk Moon, Berry Moon, Bony Moon, Dragon Moon, Black Moon......the list goes on and on..and on......and on..... and on..and on......There's probably hundreds of them.

NOT pink in color. More yellow.
In the vial: Tart and sweet. Candy!!!!!!!!
On the hand: Sweet tart candy. Love this already, for sure. The sweetness is tampered with the tart so they counteract each other nicely. Super feminine. I smell lemon, honey and sugar. There's florals here too but hell if I know what they are. LOL Even though this is tart is also very calming. Subtly sexy. Which should be spelled 'suttely sexy' because 'subtly' looks odd.
Might be one you need to find Missy.
Is there a musk in this because it seems to be absorbed into a skin scent. Not sure. There's nothing strong in this. It's all candy tartness, yet smoothly frilly.
I like it but as it dries I like the wet better. Not a big bottle winner. but I will keep the imp.
    What's in this?

This Lunar blend is soft with phlox, tulip, daffodil, dogwood and muscari, dusted with pink sugar and honey, and a touch of the first strawberries of the season.

    What is muscari??

Me wubs me some Wiki! Muscari is a genus of perennial bulbous plants native to Eurasia that produce spikes of dense, most commonly blue, urn-shaped flowers resembling bunches of grapes in the spring.

Boo! Wiki doesn't describe the scent at all. pffft!

PS DON'T click on the red words in the Wiki description, you'll end up on Mars!! I mean it!

    Don't!

    Don't even think about it!

    Noooooooooooooooo....................

    Stop. Don't do it.

You did it. U Suk.    ;)

This fades after 3 hours. The miniscule scent left on the skin is mediocre. Gone. Kapp-utt, Kapesh! Ka-Pooey!

Yeah, Missy. Coming your way. Pass it on if it doesn't work for ya. No worries, I'll have some good ones for ya too. :)

I've got to get thru these 350 imps!!

That I have yet to smell, let alone review.

    Okay, blind pick:

    The First Encounter

Okay.....the name is reminding of that movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

    Here, have a movie.

    Back to the BPAL. <smirk>

Cloying floral. That's the first thought. It has that putrid smell that I really need to track down to figure out what it is.  Something icky when I smell it. Like vomit. Vomit covered with an aerosol room spray.
On the hand....yeah Vomit Flower. Maybe it's orchid? This isn't bad, just not super good. Jasmine? I love jasmine but there's some jasmine's that are just over the top and too much. This is that. blech. I bet it's nice after a couple hours but this is so strong right now. It'd be good for bath bombs.

    What's in this?

    She was only half-dressed
    And equally bare trees tossed
Their few leaves against the window pane
    Playfully and with reckless abandon.

Sprawling half naked in my desk chair,
Hands pressed modestly against her pale breasts,
She tapped small, delicate feet on the floor
    Betraying sweet anticipation.

Her body was the colour of wax, and I watched
As an eager little ray of light
    Fluttered across her laughing lips,
Across her peeking breast, like an insect on the rose-bush.

I knelt and kissed her little ankles.
    She laughed softly and produced
A perfect string of clear trills,
    A delightful crystal laugh.

    Her delicate feet disappeared
Underneath her: “Stop! You’re so naughty!”
Yet the first act of daring permitted,
She pretended to punish me only with a laugh!

I rose and kissed her eyelids softly.
They trembled beneath my lips, poor things:
And she tossed her head back, eyes shining…
“You’re not trying to take advantage of me…are you?

“If you are, darling, you know I’ll have to–”
But I silenced the protest, dipping my mouth to her breast,
Which caused an explosion of ringing laughter
    And she opened herself willingly…

    She was only half-dressed
    And equally bare trees tossed
Their few leaves against the window pane
    Playfully and with reckless abandon.

    - Arthur Rimbaud

Candied apricot and orange blossom honey with grandiflorum jasmine, orris C02, tonka, patchouli, quince, and skin musk.

    Jasmine!!!!!  mwahahahahaha
Jasmine sometimes just reeks! I don't get any patch, but I do smell the orange blossom....another fave of mine. I will have to see how this dries. Right now it's annoying.

This reeked until just about 4 hours in, then it was quite nice. No big bottle, and imp is MORE than enuf!

    Un-Pho-gettable pho!

Yep, we hit up Saigon Cafe and I ordered pho. They know us there because we've been going in there for years and we tip really good. I had a girlfriend many years ago train me to tip well (20-25%) because that's how they make their money. So Jeff and I tip good, and the restaurant waiters/waitresses remember us. So when I told her we were splitting the pho she had them split it into two bowls! Yeah she was tipped well. ;)  Is it good or well after that. I know it's 'I feel well', but what about tipping?? ha!

Anyway, they had like 7 types of pho so I asked her which one to choose between the 1. rare beef pho, 2. double beef pho, or 3. beef and meatballs. She said the beef and meatballs.
Oh wow, it was delicious! Jeff's first bite gave him an aversion to the spice in it, but he ate all of it and by the time we left I tried to get him to admit it was good. He said mine was better! It wasn't. Mine just had more beef flavor and less spices (perfect to him)  but they were pretty similar and I had never made it or ate it before so I think I did damn good! <patting my own back>

First we ordered their potstickers. There were six but Jeff already snagged his three when I took this pic.. later I gave him another one because I knew I was going to roll out of that place being so full...He was the one that kept reminding me to take pics through the whole meal. Not at all because he was concerned with this blog (he's never read it), but he thinks I'm weird and that's what was probably first and foremost in his head. You're weird and don't forget to take pictures....

We've had them many, many times before. So good.

Then came the condiments to put on the pho. Cilantro, bean sprouts, hoison sauce, Sriracha sauce, lime, basil, chop sticks and spoons.  The Works!

I was getting super excited by this time .....that I was there and getting pho after having seen Anthony Bourdain getting some in New Orleans! I was clapping my hands and Jeff kept saying I was weird. BY the way, we were the ONLY customers in the cafe at that time.

    Then the PHO!

This is my bowl after I had added a jalapeno, sprouts, hoison and sriracha sauce. I'm hooked and will get it again. I think I will also try the chicken pho and shrimp pho.

This is the Tom Rang Muoi that I love! They leave the shells and heads on and lightly batter the raw shrimp. Then they stir fry it with salt, pepper, garlic, red pepper flakes and onions. It's the bomb! I even eat the shells and heads. Not sure if I'm supposed to do that but the crunch and flavor are amazing. What the hell!

Jeff won't touch this dish. LOL Wimpy Chicken Ass. Yes, I made him try a bite the last time I had it. I guess I shouldn't bitch, at least he eats asian food now. Me so happy!

    Pho-getaboutit!

    Today I am making Pho.

First time. I've never even ate pho before. LOL There's a vietnamese restaurant that we like that sells pho and I see it ordered a lot. My brother says he's had their pho and he loves it so since I had just about everything on hand I decided to try.

I took some beef bones and cooked them at 425 farenheit for 1 hour. At the same time I put one onion cut in half in the oven too. That roasted for 1 1/2 hours until it was charred.

Right now I have the onion, bones, star anise, one 4 inch cinnamon stick, 4 slices fresh ginger, 4 allspice balls, some fish sauce and salt cooking on the stove in some water. I plan to cook it about 6 hours.....if I can last that long! I have some rice sticks that I will soak in cold water for 1 hour then boil for one minute. I sliced some beef really thinly and since I didn't have cilantro I will use fresh parsley. I also have some fresh sliced leeks and green onions to top it with, along with some Sriracha sauce, lime wedges and hoison sauce.

Here's what it looks like so far. It was hard to get a pic because of the steam rising from it.

So it's quietly simmering away and I can forget about it for another..........4 1/2 hours.  ;)

I'll come back with  more pics and review later.

    _________________________________________________________
Still cooking!! It's 7 hours so far and still going strong. Actually I just put the rice threads in water, took the soup off so I can strain it and get some of the fat skimmed off the top......... Jeff said he'd try it! Can you believe it!? He's getting chopped steak (minute steak) cooked on a cast iron skillet. One of his favorite meals. He eats it with raw chopped onions and A1 steak sauce.

Be back later. It's 6:25PM central time.

    __________________________________________________________________
My pho was pretty good. Jeff even ate it!! We're going to the flea market tomorrow then to Saigon Cafe for lunch then clothes shopping for me for new orleans. I am going to get some pho and also a dish called Tom Rang Muoi that's freaking to die for!!

    http://www.theravenouscouple.com/2009/09/tom-rang-muoi-salt-and-pepper-shrimp.html

    Here's my pho:

    I also made crab cakes:

I used Lori's Famous Crab Cakes from all recipes....

    It was a successful meal!!

    Jareth by BPAL

    Sting-ee.

    In the vial.

Stings the nose like a cool mint.
    Just like Jareth.
    In your face.
    Bitter to taste.
    Take your medicine.

    Wispy cool tingles.
    Oh how it mingles,
    NOT to anyone's desire,
He's rank, and dank like shingles.
    He raises my ire
    Into the fire
    I go

    Pepper and mint.
    He feels like flint.
    Setting my ire on fire.
    Tingles, tingles,
    Oh how it mingles,
    Just like Jareth
    In your face
    Bitter to taste

    Take your medicine.

This is viper-ey venom in a little minty punch. Spectacular and vivid.

    Jareth-
Ethereal lilac fougere and gleaming leather with ti leaf, tonka absolute, white musk, and oudh.

    I have a posted recipe!!

On Allrecipes! They emailed me and told me one of my recipes was up for consideration of being publicly posted, and they posted it tonight!!
    Wooot Woooot!

    The 'Other' Pink musician

    Pizza and BPAL's The Gentleman

We ordered out tonight. Well....to be delivered. There's a great italian place up the street and we ordered a large pepperoni with green pepper pizza, a small alfredo sauce pizza with shrimp, fake crab, mushrooms and red onions (my pick) and a family sized order of onion rings. DELISH! Loved my pizza but it needed cooked a bit longer to make it crisp. I think I can duplicate it and make it better so I will have to post when I do that. I put ground cayenne pepper on mine too. Sizzle!

Should I take a pic? maybe I'm not posting enuf pics and I lose my entire audience of two?? <gasp!>

Tonight I was thinking about my SIL that just died and I kept whispering to her "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry". Over and over. I feel so bad she died. I just kept apologizing to her and saying I'm sorry. Fucking sucks.
'Scuse my language, but it does.
I don't even think it's hit Jeff yet. I think he's in shock. I have a feeling some day it'll just hit him and he will break down and cry. To himself. He might show me. We're close enough for that but this might be an emotion that he keeps to himself. And that's okay. I remember when I was 22 and had a close girlfriend killed by her boyfriend and it took 9 months to hit me, Then I cried everyday for two weeks. I was a basketcase for two weeks to myself, then I was able to accept and go on.

<digging out another unsmelled bpal that I've never seen what's in it before giving my review. I'm a guesser! >

    The Gentleman

Handwritten imp. Golden in color. Okay, already I see (predict) a manly scent, cologney, man on horse, with holstered gun and cowboy hat. Kenny Rogers-before the 'scary' present. Dressed in white or black, doesn't matter. Leather. OMG I'm getting carried away and I haven't even smelled it.....
POIK! That's what I first thought when I took a whiff in the vial. Yeah! POIK! Pineapple? Poikey. Like someone taking their fist and pushing it toward my face and spreading their fingers out fast right before my eyes. POIK!
On the hand: Buttery fruit. Fruity fruit too, nothing smooth or mellow like bananas. Yet I smell banana with a pop. Jasmine? Orchid? One of those sickenly florally flowers that takes over everything but not this. It's just the right amount.

5 Min: Candy. Loving this. It's a super morpher!

Seriously?? Gentleman!!??? Nuh uh. This is Heidi from Switzerland. On a horse with a brand new leather saddle.
Super freaky smell. Different. Unique. Would be a good signature scent.

What's in this? A dapper cologne, distant and refined: white musk, lime rind, and rosemary water with tobacco leaf and lilac.

    I was so OFF!  LOL

I can see how the musk and lime would make a fruity banana smell. Lilac is that strong floral I smell. The tobacco leaf is what puts the strange twist on this. Crazy good and amazing scent. FREAK-AYE!
I still think it's pretty feminine.

Bpal review-let's hope I get the name correct, eh?

    Bly

    Yellow in color.

In the vial: Magnificent floral! I'm also getting a man's cologne. I can tell already this is a keeper. I think there's musk in this. None of the florals are overbearing and it's hard to decipher exactly what's in this.

On the hand: Definitely a man's cologne smell. Very soothing and manly. No citrus though and that's usually a component in a man's cologne. As it dries it's getting to where a woman can wear it. On a woman it's meld into her and become a skin scent....like it's her essence. The way she'd smell with no soap or perfume on after she's been working in the garden in the sun all day. Even though it's florally, it's not feminine or frilly at all. Perfect for a lesbian. I'm serious and not making a joke. I smell dandelions and sunflowers, and definitely a musk. Oh, I'm liking this. It's smoooooooooooooooth too. Not sharp, not heavy, not pungent at all. Incredibly smooth. Ahhhhhh. I do think Jeff would wear this. (Jeff is NOT a lesbian--he has a penis-thought I'd better say that, LOL) I'm 95% sure. I know I will!

What's in this? Rain-lashed stone and fading summer flowers.
Bah! No scent description but oh boy that sums it up completely. Fading summer flowers is the yellow I smell. And now that I notice it is somewhat rain kissed too. Amazing scent. I will have Jeff smell it and post some more later.

Tonight I am making chicken wings. I just stick frozen chicken wings in the oven at 375 until they are browned, then I add sauces to them to make them all taste different. Some I pour barbeque sauce on, some buffalo hot sauce, some A-1 steak sauce, and some I use chinese sweet and sour sauce so we have a few that are sweet. I've also used dry rubs like dry italian dressing mix, dry barbeque spice, chicago steak flavoring, chinese five spice powder. There's other sauces too, that I've used before too like Worchestershire, fruit jams, hot mustard, ranch dressing, jerk sauce, hot thai chili sauce, the list is endless for both wet and dry seasonings to put on them.  Hubby likes the buffalo wing sauce but I like doing other flavors for myself.  I'm a little more adventurous than he is. (like that wasn't evident in previous posts.....lol)
