Drunken Noodles and another Brad

OKay, I made the drunken Italian noodles and I thought there were too many peppers but Jeff thought it was perfect. Figures. When I think a dish bites, he thinks it's great. pffft!! (remember ....my saying pfffft is another way that I say FUCK!  lol)

I've found a new addiction.

SHARK TANK

OMG I love watching the people pitch their product and the sharks either dog them or bid against each other. There's nothing about this show that I don't like!! I disliked Mark the Shark at first but now I think he's hot. Hahahahaha!!  I'm serious, I do! LOL

Winter here has hit hard and fast. I haven't gotten out the 'big' coat though.

I found a new product. Aquage uplifting foam.
Mama Mia!

I'm going to go down and listen to music.

Prime Rib Roast

I just popped a prime rib roast into a 450 degree oven. First I added a generous amount of Lawry's seasoned salt all over the outside (except the ends). After 20 minutes I will reduce the heat to 200 degrees and cook it about 3-4 hours. It's 3 1/2 lbs.

No special occasion, Jeff just saw it at Sam's and decided to buy it. The price wasn't too bad, $9.99 lb.

A chef at Greenbriar restaurant told Jeff how to cook them like this. Jeff used to service their dishwasher. Greenbriar has one of the best prime rib in the Des Moines area. It's a 5 star $$$-$$$$ quality restaurant. Their salads are $10-$13 if that tells you anything. ;)  I've made it this way about 5 times now and it's always been just fantastically good. The amount of seasoning salt is to salt it enough to get a thin layer. Once I over salted and it was too salty. So there's a fine line between salty enough and too salty.

Well, I did what I said I wouldn't do. I brought Sisi in. Yesterday afternoon she was on the front stoop screaming in the snow so I opened the door. Usually she's just been in the driveway when we get home from work, or when we open the back door. So I pulled her in and fed her not one, but TWO cans of catfood! She's a pig! Then when I opened the door to let her back out, she didn't want to go. I tried 4 different times to see if she'd go back out and nope. Jeff said, "She isn't stupid." LOL So she spent the night. No fights yet with the dogs or Mojo, but I'm sure they're coming. She stayed in the living room the first 8 hours. I showed her the litter boxes in the basement and so far she's used them twice. I've named her Gypsy-which works well with Sisi for short. She's already made herself at home. She slept on me most of the night then moved to the top of the couch. Here's a pic  I just took.

She has beautiful gold eyes. I think she was an owl in another life.

She's done some hissing at both dawgs and Moj. She's even smacked both dawgs in the face but they took it in stride. If that doesn't say a lot about my dogs, nothing does. They could kill her in one bite. She seems to know that and so do they. Mojo doesn't like her and she growls at him, but she seems to be taking them all in stride, like they are her. She's a bitch. Girl cats are bitches. But she's soft and gentle too and definitely doesn't need to be an outside cat.  So I think she's ours now. We'll see.
She tiny too. I know she's full grown because she reacts to catnip. Not sure if she's spayed yet though. Guess we'll see on that too.....

Never thought she'd live this long being outside. Most cats get ran over, so she must have learned to avoid cars. I've seen her across the street many times.

She's very loving and just plops down to sleep anywhere, even in the middle of the living room. She loves being loved on and scratched too. She slept on the bed today while Jeff watched TV in the bedroom. I don't love her yet, but I like her a lot. Will see if she stays with us.

Sno Ho strikes again

Ava begged to go out to potty about 3 am this morning. It snowed lightly all day yesterday and we got about 3 inches of soft fluffy snow. It was still snowing at 3 am when she wanted out. So I let her and Starky out and they both peed, then of course Stark wants in. Ava was meandering far back in the back yard but I could still see her. I figured she needed to poop. That's usually the case when she begs to go out in the night, otherwise she can hold her potty for over 12 hours.

So she plops down on the ground and I thought she was just going to lay there so I was about ready just to go back to bed. (She could stay out there for hours before barking to come in) As I am ready to turn away I see her flip onto her back and start rolling in the snow. Rolling and playing and snorting for a good 5 minutes. LOL Crazy dawg. I almost got the camera but I knew it would be too dark to see anything anyway. It was so cute and funny. After she was done I did call her in and her she lumbers in all covered in snow.

I'm so glad I'm not an anal neat freak. I could never have these animals if I was. Life just wouldn't be as good, would it?

Snow and my Sno Ho Dawg.

I LOVE snow!!!!

I let the dawgs out about 2 hours ago with some marrow bones. Stark wanted back in when it started to snow. So I left Ava out there because she just looked at me like: I don't want to come in. So I just now went and checked on her and she is still laying there, enjoying her day. She loves the snow too.

I really didn't think she'd come in, but she did. Now they will both sleep for the next three hours until Daddy comes home.

Candy Flavor Lip Gloss but no lipstick and 2 Nocturne Alchemy scentsations

I'm not much of a lippie girl. (that means 'into lipstick, gloss, etc') my lips are pretty dark naturally but too thin to wear lipsticks. It just calls attention to their thinness. Is that a word? Is it thiness? Nope, blogger is flaggin the thiness with red...... And flaggin....since I left off the g. That's the way I talk by the way and no I aint Southern.
But I have this Lip Smackers Candy Flavor Lip Gloss that I got from my work secret santa about 8 years ago. I know. Yeah, I still use it. Usually when I wear anything on my lips, especially balms, it makes my throat scratchy. But this stuff doesn't. And it's not made any more!! I know right? Plus it's a nice shiny gloss. It's in square tube, instead of the normal round tube. I can't even find it on Ebay and that's usually where I find every vintage thing I want. Booooooooo!

We have a little stray gray calico cat that we're feeding. She started coming around about 6 weeks ago. She has this really high pitched meow...just like a little girl. I've been calling her several names trying to find one that fits. Ki Ki Dee was one of them.  I've settled on Sisi. It just seems to fit her. She doesn't like being held. And she's really little, like she stopped growing or is just really young. She stays outside the fence so the dawgs don't get her and we feed her canned cat food. She just came back today after being gone for three days. We figured she'd either gotten ran over or her owners had brought her in since it's gotten cold and snowy around here. I don't want her, nor do I want to bring her in but it was nice seeing that she was okay. She was hungry too. Gobbled like a pig.
She can eat two cans of cat food then her little belly is just loaded and bulging. LOL  No more cats for us...especially females. They are way too temperamental. Give me an orange tom cat any day. At one time we had 13 cats. That's a lot. Since we've lost 3 in the last year, we're down to one now. Yeah, call me Cat Lady all you want. I admit it. I own that.

Do you ever just catch yourself singing this song??

I do.

For 4 years now. Catchy little bugger.

Reading someone else's blog/website/twitter/you tube video/facebook/pinterest page can set you up to spend money. Like if they tell you a makeup foundation is the greatest thing they've ever used, or they describe a perfume that just locks it down for you. If I went back and calculated how much I've spent on other people's suggestions.....that'd be half my wages. Am I really that gullible and susceptible? Have I no mind of my own? NO!! I don't!! Well, okay, I do...but sometimes.....it sounds so good it's hard to resist.

Take hair products, for instance. I have fine hair. I don't mean fine as in good, I mean fine as in skinny! So I see products recommended to add volume to my hair. I buy them. The product weighs my hair down and it's flatter than it began. I have to be careful. My hair is also oily so oily products make it oilier (<<is that a word?!), and weighed down and skinnier. Then if I buy a product high in alcohol to counteract the oiliness, it makes my hair flyaway and frizzy. Can I never win?  Obviously not.

Hopefully my posts have broke some people out there. Paybacks are hell. But I'm just paying it forward. LOL

I taught Ava how to pick meat off of chicken wings. Here's a video. It's kind of dark but probably a good thing since I need to vacuum.

She uses her little front teeth to pull the meat from the bone. She's very precise. Like eating corn. She was really hungry when I shot this so she wasn't as 'delicate' as she usually is. I also let her pull the cartilage ends off. She seems to know when she's grabbed bone because she will back off a bit. I won't let them eat chicken or pork bones because they splinter. Stark couldn't eat the meat off the bone if his life depended on it. I have to pull it off for him. He's so spoiled and such a wimp. Ava's great with chicken legs too. Both of them know how to eat off forks though. Just like a human. LOL

I got a couple new Nocturne Alchemy oils the other day.

One was Crystal Heart of Ra---OMG Deeply green musky goodness.

Exquisite Dragons resin, Egyptian frankincense and myrrh with exotic vanilla bean

The other was Shadow: Dragons of Egypt:  Sekh-ba-RA -crisp and clean, inhaling spring air

The Lionesse Dragon of Influence and Power and one of the three daughters of RA.  She is vulnerable only when asleep.  She can maneuver thought with a glance of her eyes.  Her skin is the colour of yellow gold and her wings the vibrance of a fire under the poise of the sun.   Her scent is the perfume of her home on the water island.  Beauty and bounty in one.
White Egyptian Tea Leaf, White Egyptian Musk, Rosewood, Arabian and Egyptian Sandalwood,  Coriander and Bergamot.

Both are amazing scents. If I had to choose one it'd be Crystal Heart of Ra. It's that sweet musky scent that I gravitate toward.
Both are complex and worthy of purchase.

I'm stealing my seller's pic. Me bad.

Here's the music that fits these two scents.

Bah! It's time!

for me to put away Loo-Cee. That's my Miata convertible. 4 days after when I put her away last year....

I moved her into the garage tonight. She's so cute. She had frost on her yesterday morning, so I knew the time was drawing near. She has 2800 miles her now. She's gettin' old! LOL And she had her first oil change 2 weeks ago. She's no longer a virgin! Gasp!

Jeff's going to buy a trickle battery charger so she doesn't go dead during the winter like last year.

We still don't have the audio system completely hooked up yet. We went out and bought a 12x14 carpet. We also found out the center speaker is rather large and slopes down toward the back so impossible to put the smart TV on it. Jeff built a shelf to go over the center speaker. I know, right?
Mr. HasNeverMadeAnythingWithWoodBefore.

Two Snaps!

It turned out really good! Bowing down to da man!!! <bowing>

When it's finally all put together this is what I am going to play:

What's an Eagle Scout?

A co-worker is a Scout Commander and his scouts are trying to earn their medals. One scout is trying to raise money to replace 100 tattered flags in the area. If you could help him out that'd be appreciated.

Singing Dawgs

I finally got somewhat of a video of my dawgs singing with the noon siren today. Normally they both howl the whole time but the siren didn't sound very loud today. Stark did the singing.

York Steak House Honey Glazed Chicken and Bpal's Les Fleurs du Mal

Meant to post this last night: October 31st-HALLOWEEN!!!! BOO!!!

Tonight I am making a roasted chicken that we used to get a long, long time ago from York Steak House. It was called their Honey Glazed chicken and you could order a 1/4 or a half of chicken. When they closed I was so disappointed that I could never have that chicken again! Then one day a few years later I discovered Chinese five spice powder. That's it! That was the seasoning on York's chicken. So I invented my own recipe.
I take a whole chicken and rinse it. Always always rinse your chicken no matter what you hear.....just do it! The processing plants drop the chickens into a vat full of water to clean them and the vat is full of feces, blood, and chicken yuck. Rinse your chicken!!
After rinsing my chicken well, I  spray some Pam into a 9x13 pan with sides. Like a cake pan. Then I place the chicken breast up and pat it dry with paper towels. I then sprinkle it with five spice powder all over. I'm quite liberal with it. I place the chicken, uncovered, into a 350 degree oven. I roast it for 1 hour, then take it out and slather on some honey. Bake in the oven to roast another hour at 225 degrees. I don't want the honey to burn. It's the bomb!
The honey is from France given to us by Jeff's boss when they went there last month. Superb stuff, omg!

OKay, time for a bpal review. Seems like it's been a while. Gonna pull from that same white box from a week or so ago. Hmm, what number. Last time I chose 18. How about 51, since I am 51 yrs old....

Les Fleurs du Mal

Yellow in color. No kidding.

In the vial: of course blinding sweet florals. Some what aquatic too. It's like walking through a park when all the fruit trees are in bloom and smelling that lovely sweet fragrance wafting through the air. It's a beautiful scent. I sense a white flower but I suck and usually when I say white it's purple. Like roses and violets. I think I smell orange blossoms. This is super feminine, frilly  and girly. Loving it.

What's in this? The scents of the blossoms of darkness, condensed into one perfume. Features a rose base, softened with lilac and wisteria.
Yep, it's a purple floral (lilac and wisteria) and roses. ROFL. No wonder I like it. I love rose and lilac. Not sure what wisteria smells like. Doesn't wisteria come in white too? Maybe I'm not that far off. LOL I love wisteria. The first time I ever saw it was when I was little and at my Great Grandma's house and she had it growing around a window outside her house. It was gorgeous.

Back to the bpal: super florally on the back of my hand! Lovely, and a keeper. The lilac comes out on the skin. Good, lilac is a big fave of mine.

I love this old man. Check out his recipes. They're good!
