I'M STILL ALIVE!! I made my five year cancer free goal. I am officially cancer free.

Trains

There must be a law for trains going through town, they must have to honk continually, lest some soul drives right into one, or in front of one. What does it have to be? Beats me. I followed the train that goes through town all the way across Iowa and into Nebraska and further on Google Earth. It was almost as good as being there. It went through or nearby every town on the way.

I grew up on the train sounds rebounding off downtown Des Moines, we were close enough to the river, the bottoms as someone would say. I never realized I grew near the bottoms until high school. A girl, who had one of those dads that built his own business and the name was well known in town, referenced, in a full room discussion, the South East Bottoms. She had included MY neighborhood! Are people deliberately this obtuse or mean? I didn't care. Nah, I was too laid back.

I'm still here, still alive

Just in case you were wondering, is she dead? Did the cancer get her? Fuck no! I was told at my last check up that for me to get a recurrence is basically nil. So you're stuck with me. Lucky you.

Did I tell you my little brother's cancer came back? Okay they say it's 'per se' not the 'same' cancer since it was 9 years after the first bout but that's bullshit. It's again at the base of his tongue. SAME PLACE! Tell me all you want that anything after 5 years is a different cancer. I don't believe you. Take that and stick it. It's the same!! He's okay though, still alive. That was last year, May 2017. He just had half the back of his tongue taken out and now he talks funny. But hey it's a new cancer so let's be happy. (tap dancing) Yeah, right.
I don't even think I told you that Ava died on January 1st. My mom's birthday. First day of the new year. What a way to start. Thankfully 2018 hasn't shown it's ass like 2015 did. I'm thankful.

We got a new dog. His name is Ryke. Yeah like Reich, the 3rd Reich of Hitler. No one gets it, I have to explain it every time. He'll be 1 on February 1st. He's a heathen. Even worse than Ghetto Girl, which is what we call Lucy. He's sweet, we love him bunches. He's not mature enough yet to not be crated during the day. When I come home he's screaming some gawd awful song that even monks would be proud of. I make him be still before I let him out, it makes him know I am the
Alpha.<<another word for I'm the BITCH so obey me. He does. We have good dogs.

Ryke as puppy.

Ryke, still as puppy. I don't think this dog is ever going to grow up.  :)

It's been a long long time.

I used to enjoy posting. Even if it was out into the air that no one read or cared about. That was okay. I could deal with that. Now....I never want to write. I totter between thinking no one reads this anyway, to who the fuck gives a shit, to I don't have the time, to why expose yourself like that. I really do.  Flip flop.  Flip flop action! Which reminds me. In Des Moines when I was growing up there was this Duane Ellett that had a hand puppet called Floppy. Floppy was a beagle. An almost all brown beagle. He was the rage to all 4 to 13 year olds.  He hosted a morning breakfast club show with a dog puppet. I have to admit. Duane and Floppy were where it was at. I got on his breakfast club show once. I had to read a Clark Bar commercial when it was my turn. During the commercial break I was told my lines. I knew I couldn't do it. When the camera fell on me all I could do was mumble. The lady on the show that did commercials with Duane and Floppy had to say my lines for me. Don't EVER invite me to a Tupperware party (or Fuckerware) and expect me to stand up, declare my name and tell you how I met the hostess or whatever the shit they have you do. Because I don't want to talk, I don't want to stand, and I don't want anyone looking at me, fuckers. LOL

There, I'm done. Goodnight.

And the eat goes on.....

yeah, I'm eating more now. I can eat ribeye steaks rare to med rare. That's how I used to eat them anyway so it's all good.
I can eat hot Italian sausage again! It used to be too hot. The radiation in my mouth made it super sensitive, in fact the first 6 months after treatment I couldn't even eat black pepper sprinkled on food. I can't tell you how disappointed I was not being able to eat hot foods. That was literally quite devastating to me. I mean, I used to go into Chinese food restaurants and order 5 star hotness. They'd look at me and say, 5 stah!? And I'd say, yeah, 5 Stah! LOL I actually won an award by eating a thai meal called Angry Dish once. I got a certificate in the mail because I had ate it all. I swear to GOD the next day my butthole hurt when I went to the bathroom.

Tonight I am making homemade pizza and onion rings. If you want THE BEST onion ring recipe then google Ina Garten's recipe. My little brother told me about it and that's all I use anymore. Follow the directions exactly. Don't add more corn meal like I did once. NOT THE SAME! Stick to the recipe. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Certainly NOT a water babe

Lucy (unlike Stark) doesn't like the hose. But she sure likes baths, um, as long as they're with ME! Go figure. ROFLMAO!!

Sad

A bird died in my hands this morning. I went outside with the dogs around 6am to feed the pond fish and this black bird was on the ground. It tried to dash away. I could tell it couldn't fly. So I picked it up. It was gasping. It was 80 degrees and humid so I assumed it was overheated so I brought it in. I could hear little squeaks in it's chest when it breathed. I put it by the air vent because the air was blowing. Didn't help. Then I wondered if it was hungry because it kind of seemed like a baby bird wanting food. As I was trying one handed to get the bread open, the milk out (to soak the bread) , it's head fell to the side and it died.

I didn't cry, surprisingly. I felt bad though. I wish I could have saved it.

I googled gasping birds and found that it was probably a respiratory ailment.

I told my husband and he says, "I hope it's not the bird flu."

That'd be ironic wouldn't it. Me dying of bird flu instead of this lurking to come out cancer in my tissues......

Lucy Sue -Crazy monster dawg from Hell

Okay okay. It needs said. New dawg is weird. She's funny, undisciplined, wild, a nut, silly, disobedient, and I just don't know if she'll ever change.

I sure hope so because she's getting big! She's almost as tall as the other two. Thank God she's weighs only about 60 lbs because she'd be bowling us over. She loves coming from behind and going through our legs. ALL THE TIME. I thought she'd stop once she got bigger but nope. It's quite startling when she does it because since she's coming up behind, we don't see her. I actually think she loves doing it. Makes us laugh and she likes that. She's the most ghetto dog too. If I'm on the recliner she'll jump into my lap in a split second. And she's not delicate about it. I am hoping as she gets heavier she won't do it.

She is so dejected when we discipline her that we just hate to do it, therefore she gets away with a lot. Isn't that how it always is? You discipline the first born kids then the youngest always get away with murder!? Well, that's how it is around here.
If we even look at her funny she thinks she's in trouble, and her ears go back and she gets slinky and she gets into her crate. 85% of the time that she thinks she's in trouble she isn't.

And don't stare at her. She hates it. Freaks OUT! She'll scream, literally SCREAM! if you stare at her too long. It's really funny. So Jeff does it all the time to her. No wonder she's a rebel child.

She loves her crate. By this time the last two were out of theirs all day and roaming while we were at work. Oh no, not her. She even gets into it in the middle of the night. I personally think it because the cat can't get her to beat the shit out of her, but who knows. I can't trust her to be out while we're gone though. She'd destroy  everything. All my boots on shelves in the entranceway would be toast. So we're still crating her. We used to crate her at night but don't anymore, she chooses to be in it. The gate on it isn't even locked. She usually sleeps on the couch all night. She does need out once per night and wakes me up with short loud screams. But Stark likes going out then too so it's all good. They go back to sleep (usually her in the crate now) while I end up watching TV for three hours until I fall asleep again. sigh

She's really lovey. Loves kisses and attention. When I look at her and say, "I'm gonna give you some lubbins." she gets all gooey, submissive, and warm just waiting for me to come over to coddle her. But I swear she has ADD because she can't sit still while getting love. She has to squirm and lightly chew my hands, but I can tell she loves it. Even though she's is over energized most of the time and destroys things, we still feel she's going to turn into a good adult dog. We just hope she doesn't chew our faces off someday. LOL Yeah........we kinda think she's capable and I didn't know Jeff thought that until one day he nonchalantly said something along those lines. I said, "You think that too!!??" Yeah, she's a little off. Like Cuckoo's Nest off.

No lobotomy for my baby!!

Someone take these damn Kit Kats away from me!

Bah! Husband bought them for me. The effer. Bag of minis. So good. I've had 5 tonight. I'm going to be size 18 before long! I said that too, when I was on the feeding tube. I was so hungry and was feeding myself 3 to 4 Ensures a day, so I was dropping weight like crazy and starving in the meantime. All I did was watch the food network all day. And write down recipes. LOL Jeff gained 40 lbs while I lost 70. So I said I was going to get fat again, on purpose. I'm actually not but it sounds good.

Random dribble

Our puppy is selfish-- Really bad. If I pat the dog bed for Ava or Stark to lay on, Lucy DIVES for it. If I start to play ball with Stark, Lucy steals the ball. She's very high maintenance. Needs lots of attention. She eats everything too. Yesterday she ate brownies, short ribs, wasabi chex mix  http://allrecipes.com/personal-recipe/62657583/wasabi-chex-mix/
mashed potatoes, and garlic bread. She eats bread like little kids eat cookies.

She's lovin life.

She's also weird. Totally ghetto. Came from a hoarders house. We feel we saved her, rescued her. Yeah, we're trying to believe that. Still. It's been 6 months and the idea is getting weaker and weaker.....  lol  Hahaha! She's such a dork, and an alpha submissive dog. Get your head around that. My husband knows what I mean.

She's ripped the shit out of the back yard. LITERALLY  Nothing is safe. She shredded the hammock, broke all my new pots for plants, dug about 15-long trench holes (we don't know why they aren't round), strewn through out the yard and desecrated whatever is in the recycle bin, and carries around tree limbs like they are prizes. We have one outside the back door on the stoop as I type. 3 inches round and 4 feet long. We can't trip on that. Of course not.

I want to paint my kitchen ceiling. The room is orange, so what color? Purple or blue? I'm torn. Light purple, dark purple, purple with sparkles? Light blue, sky blue, royal blue? See? I'm really, really torn on what color. Too many choices! And everything will look good! I already have a green ceiling in the living room, so no green.

I'm so glad Spring is coming. Once you've had cancer certain things mean more than others. I'm just glad I get to see another Spring. The smell of the wet ground and trees coming into bud is a smell that's truly amazing. Birds chirping fiercely. Waking me up at 4am. Yeah, give it to me good! My dog is an alpha submissive and I'm a pessimistic optimist.

The outside girl cat that we've been feeding for about 3 years hasn't been around for about a week. She was lame in her back right leg. I just hope she didn't suffer. We assume she's gone. Like dead. I hope not. I miss her. I relied on her being under the bushes along the front of the house. Waiting on her one or two cans of food everyday. I'd call her, "Baby Girl! Baby Girl!" and she'd meow. Then as I slid back into the house after putting the can on the ground, she'd hiss when she'd jump onto the stoop. Such a bitch kitty. She's missed.

Jeff is gone today at a show. Yay! I love being alone although I do like him a lot. LOL The secret to a good marriage? Like. Not love. You can love someone but not like them, and vice versa.

Like is the secret! <<whispering that
I like him. We can argue and I still like him. Arguments are laughed off. They're not that big of a deal. We don't harp. We don't nag. Want to get rid of someone? Nag them. Just nick pick the shit out of them. They'll leave. Eventually.

My mom was a nagger. A true nit pick. She hated every mess we made. I could be clean like that if I nitpicked. It's not worth it. Okay it's worth it when people stop by unannounced. Don't do that to me. I need at least three days a week before company. If you don't think I'm serious, then stop by. We have dogs, and 5 step and adopted children under the age of 14 living with us. I lied about that last part. We actually have 2 cats and 3 dogs. And two grown adults who can't pick up after themselves. So THAT equals 9 adopted children. Being truthful here.

I have to go. I need to clean.

Persecution

I'm an independent. I didn't want either Trump or Hilary. (why his last name and her first? I don't know).
He's said some stupid shit.

But this crucifixion of him and his family needs to stop. He's our President. Give respect. I tweeted to him to please not say someone is disgusting. Please.

Make us proud.

If you can.

Tit for tat. Motto. ^^

Life after mouth cancer

So maybe you bounced here from another place. Welcome. Don't stalk me. I'm not worth it. I ugee. Need me to prove it? I can. My mouth isn't the same. I speak with a speech impediment. But it's okay. It's my new norm. I've heard others on message boards speak those words, "It's my new norm". But I never understood it until me being me was the new norm. I have a permanent spot in my nose that seeps and bothers the shit out of me, but it's okay. It's life. This new norm is a lot better than dying of cancer. But I know that will come too, someday. But not if I can help it.

I went out and found myself a new job! No shit. Had to. Laid off after 16 3/4 years. No shit. It was a good thing. A very good thing. My insurance is cheaper and better.  I make $400 per year less than I did at my last job, but with the monthly savings of $200 on insurance I now make $2,000 more per year. See how that works? There's A LOT more than more money and better insurance too at this new job. EVERYTHING IS BETTER. And when I say everything, I mean EVERYTHING. I'll move on now. ;)

I just ate some Eggo waffles. They are so good and crispy. I've tried to make homemade crispy waffles and they just don't turn out like Eggos. So I give up. Yep. After several different recipes, some with butter, some with oil, some with vanilla, some without, some with cinnamon, some without, AP flour, bread flour. I just can't duplicate the amazing crunch and soft inside I get from Eggo waffles from my toaster!! So I give up! I'm going to stop trying and commit to Eggos for life! I tried too. I tried hard. I've always been one of those people that feel homemade is always better, but bam! Not with waffles. LOL It's so freeing to just give up!! I CAVE!!

I also like Mrs. Buttersworth better than real maple syrup too. There! I said it! I just did a taste test. I got out my Skinny Sticks Maple syrup from Wisconsin and challenged it against Mrs. Buttersworth. The maple syrup is like eating pure liquid sugar with no flavor. Mrs. Buttersworth is creamy and actually taste buttery! And maply! More maple than the real stuff. So I caved on that today too. No more maple, only Mrs. Buttersworth. (a long time ago I compared Mrs. Butterworth to Aunt Jemima syrup and MBW won that challenge)

I feel great after cancer. I feel better now than before. Losing 55 lbs helped. I'm a size 8-10 now, depending on the day. I have such cute clothes!!!  I had lost 70lbs but I've gained 15 back because food is finally good again! Not all food, but most. I now have a sweet tooth. Never had one before but when my taste started coming back, sweet things tasted the best. So now I'm hooked. LOL

I still can't eat most meats, like roast, or steak or any type of pork. Too dry. I don't have the saliva in my mouth to be able to break it down and I end up spitting it out. Even adding liquid into my mouth with it doesn't help. But I can eat things like ground beef, fried shrimp, fried zucchini, spaghetti sauce with meat (which hasn't really come back to tasting like it used to yet), breakfast burritos, sausage, bacon, ham is okay if it's moist. I know, ham is pork. Shadup!  ;)
Anyway, I'm back to eating 80% of what I used to. In fact yesterday I even ate a McDonald's crispy chicken sandwich! It was great! Things with a sauce are easier, or creamy things like tater tot casserole, scalloped corn, green bean casserole, fettucine alfredo, lasagna etc. My mouth only opens about a finger's width so it's hard to eat tall things like sandwiches. I have to flatten them a bit or bite at side angles. It's quite interesting to watch me eat. LOL Think of it like this, ever eat a Little Debbie Nutty Bar? I can barely get one of those in my mouth, that's the farthest I can get my mouth open. The space between my teeth I mean. I can't bite an apple, I have to cut it. I also can't eat apple peels because they don't break down enough to get past a stricture in my throat. A stricture is a narrowing in my esophagus. I had surgery last January to open it wider and it worked. But it's still there so I have to make sure I chew my foods good so it doesn't get stuck in my throat. Or I have to eat things that are malleable, that can change shape to get down the narrow area, like mashed potatoes.  But apple peels do not conform, and a lot of meats don't either. Another reason I can't just eat a bite of pork chop. Combine dry meat, no saliva and a narrowing in the throat and it's a panic when it gets stuck!

My ears have a constant ringing. It doesn't bother me at all. Don't even notice it unless it's quiet. I have two belly buttons, one is from the feeding tube. Haha
Here's what my arm looks like now.
Here's what it looked like right after surgery.

That doesn't bother me either. It's pretty wild how these things are so low on the totem pole any more that I don't even think about them. Just the new norm. There's that saying again!

I kind of feel I came through all this with flying colors and a few scars and other things really don't matter that much in the grand scheme of things.

Well, off to go make three July 4th wreaths for a friend. Talk atcha next time.

New Puppuh!

Should have posted this sooner, but we got a new GSD three weeks ago. She's twelve weeks old. We named her Lucy Sue. She's a blast. Sweet, lovable, funny, smart and a holy terror. LITERALLY.

She bites our feet and legs as we try to walk, well, because that's fun!
Poor Stark gets the brunt of her demon affection. He tolerates her about 95% of the time. When she's really irritating his lip will go up.

Ava tolerates her 60% of the time. Her lips are up, A LOT. Hehe

Mojo tolerates Lucy about 98% of the time. He didn't like her the first 10 days or so but now she can smell his butt, so that's progress, right? He no longer hisses at her either. Just tolerates the nose bumps and what not.

Sisi.......well, let's just say Sisi hates her. The hate has dissipated from 500% to about 100% at this time. Sisi will flat out stalk that dog and whip the shit out of her with all four declawed feet. Okay okay the 'stalking' has slowed.....  Lucy is totally submissive to everyone. Thank God. It'd be hell around here if she thought she was alpha.

She has decided the dog bed in front of the TV is hers though. And true to her submissive behavior, she shares.

That's her and Stark. She's his shadow. Not that he wants that. LOL

Jeff thinks I got her to replace Ava who is 10 and starting to fail. I didn't.

I got her to replace me.

Oh no worries that we love each other with all our hearts.

Just sumpin else. Sumpin else.........

My own personal scent! Me Fragrance!

I knew there were companies out there that you could make your own perfume scent, so I decided to try it.

After perusing a few I found some were too expensive, too hard to figure out, too whatever. Then I found Me Fragrance. Yes!! Exactly what I was looking for. I DO NOT get endorsement from them nor do I 'own' any part of them, in fact except for my order, they have no idea who I am.  They do not know that I am blogging about them. I received my first (I say first because hell yeah I'm going to do this again!) order today and am thrilled with it! It's all my faves in one bottle plus I got to name it and it showed up with the label and everything! My nickname has been Loulabelle since I was like 6 years old.

The scent fits perfectly with the name too! Frilly, feminine, sweet.

You get to choose up to 6 fragrance oils like rose, musk, grapefruit, pine, just to name a few. They have A LOT to choose from. Here's what I chose:

Gardenia, Magnolia, Honeysuckle, Musk, Frankincense and Cherry Blossom.

Once you decide what fragrances you want,  you need to pick the percentage of each one. Also some are top notes, some are middle notes and the rest are base notes. So they have some guidelines to follow when choosing,  like you want the percentage of top notes to be around 25%, base 30% and middle 35%, or close to these numbers. Here's what I did.

Top Note: Cherry Blossom 25%
Middle Note: Gardenia 15%, Magnolia 20%, Honeysuckle 15%
Base Note: Musk 15%, Frankincense 10%

You must get them to equal 100%, so you fiddle around to get them where you need. It was a little tricky at first but once I got the hang of it, it was a breeze.
Before you begin it asks you what size bottle, the shape of the bottle etc. I chose the biggest one they had because it was only around $27, which to me is a steal for the size and I designed it!

Okay I must admit I chose really florally, sweet, intense scents, because they were my faves. When I buy candles I always go for the magnolia or gardenia etc because they are super intense.

did I say I LOVE MY PERFUME!!!???   I DO I DO!

It's so me! haha

Now that I have chosen my faves in this bottle, I am going to play around with other scents to create a new one. I think I will go for a deep scent this next time. Heady and manly. I don't know!  I just know I'm going to be broke!

The website is here:

Give it a whirl!

Freaking hilarious

This is so funny that I came out of hiding. I laugh so hard that I can't breathe and get tears in my eyes. It's way too funny to not post it.

O.M.G.

So, I email an ebay seller thru ebay messages this question:

Hi, is it possible to get the unstretched bust measurement from armpit seam to armpit seam, please? Thank you for your time and trouble.

She listed a top that I was interested in but didn't provide the measurements, so I wanted to see if it would fit me.

This is the response I received:

Hi, This is not stretchy material ...its 100% polyester. Thanks, Kimmy

WTF?!

I thought my question was relatively easy to understand. I ask for unstretched because I had a seller once only give me the stretched measurement.  (yeah I could go on and on about non-intelligent ebay sellers, but that will be for another day)
I don't wear clothing tight and stretched.

So I responded:               and the bust measurement is..........................

I'll give her kudos for responding again: I will get the measurement as soon as I can get it pulled. Thanks. Kimmy

So in other words, I will never receive the measurement. I've heard this so many times. LOL Just as well. I wouldn't buy from her now if she paid me to take the item because there will surely be something wrong with the top, like a ripped seam, or stain.

I'll happily give my money to someone else. Very happily. LOL

8 hours later: Just received a response.

Hi, B=42". See atrached pic of bust measuere. Thank, Kimmy

(sigh)

Wow, what's it been

months? Year? Been a while.

Don't get your hopes up, I'm not feeling very writey.

During cancer treatment some things stuck with me in a bad way, but others didn't get bad at all.

I play a game on my iphone called Word Seek. I found it when I was staying at the Hope Lodge. The music it plays brings up bad memories of the ill feeling, the mucus in my mouth, brushing my teeth every 20 minutes, losing a portion of my hair, the infections, the loss of taste, and the losing control of my life,  but I still play. LOL

When I would get my radiation treatments, I'd hear Kings of Leon. And it was always the exact same songs every time. Even with that, there are no memories with their music that bring back anything bad. Not like Word Seek. Isn't that weird? I find that weird. It's probably because their music is the greatest. Sub-par word to describe it, but it fits.

Found out Sunday my SIL loves Kings of Leon too. Makes life extra super special when someone 'gets' what you get.

Know what I think is funny? Cats named Betty. So far I've heard of two. My sister's cat and a co-worker's daughter's. OMG what's the correct punctuation for that sentence? Christ I about had a coronary typing that last part out.

I love dreams.

No I'm not on opioids. LOL Sounds like it though, doesn't it? ;)

Sia -----Bird Set Free

This is probably the most mesmerizing dance and song video I have EVER seen in my life. I just wish I could find someone else who finds it the same. Sia's birthday is the same as mine-December 18th.

Watch this. It's incredible.

The dancer is Ricky Ubeda. Winner of So You Think You Can Dance. Rightfully so.
