OMG I had to post this.
Last night we went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant. I ordered chicken flautas. It's shredded chicken with onions, green peppers, tomato and hot peppers placed onto flour tortilla then rolled up and deep fried. It's the first time I've ever had them and they are super good! I received three and had to bring
1 1/2 home because it was too much to eat.
So today I get them from the fridge and gave 1/2 of the half one to each dog.
So 1/4 of a whole one each. Ava, who doesn't like breads, proceeded to chew the meat out and left the small piece of tortilla on the floor between her legs. Stark, who likes breads, ate all of his. So I opened the whole flauta and dug the meat out and fed it to both dogs. Stark, I could tell, wanted the tortilla too, so I broke off pieces and fed it to him. When he was all done I pointed to Ava's tortilla still laying between her legs and said, "Ava has some", thinking she won't eat it, he might as well. Ava, who knows EVERYTHING we say, quickly darts and eats her tortilla!! bwahahahahahahah OMG I am crying laughing at these crazy dogs I have. Even though she doesn't eat bread she sure as hell wasn't going to let him have it! Bwahahahahaha! Fricking funny dawgs. Gotta love them....LOL
This isn't a blind bpal pick, just one that I want to try because of it's deep color.
Cairo
I would love to go to Egypt (not right now) but it's always been a dream of mine. I always wanted to see the pyramids and the Sphinx. I was into pyramid power a long time ago. My dad ran across it when he opened a head shop. I had pyramids in my room that I'd put small glasses of milk under and sure enough they never spoiled! It was weird.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramid_power
This vial of Cairo is a beautiful reddish brown and dark and thick. Looks like molasses when I tilt the vial it moves so slow. I hope this is good.
I get somewhat of a rootbeer smell. Which reminds me, Missy!! I checked World Market last week for Julmust and they didn't have any. I even asked a worker. Bah! I so wanted to try it. They did have some other ginger beers there but I didn't buy any.
Back to Cairo: I also smell some greenery amongst the beer. Wet on the hand this gets spicy. This is really different. I've never come across this smell in bpal before. Usually one bpal somewhat smells like another so I can cross reference but this is different. I smell spices. Like allspice or something to cook with that I can't pinpoint. I'm really liking it. It does remind me of incense too. It's not a deep smell either it's pretty lilty. A spicy flower. The rootbeer smell is gone. I have to see what's in this! I love it!
The essence of holy Kyphi, beloved incense of the Egyptian Gods.
Hmm, not much of a description, eh? Most get lemongrass, yes I can see that in this. It still smells like a spice to cook with, I may have to dig out my indian spices and see if any fit the bill.
A keeper and a big bottle winner too. Yum!

Blind Pick!
Blind pick
Silk Road
Have never even heard of this one yet. Gold in color. Somewhat nondrecript in the vial. Wet on my hand it seems lightly musky. I smell cinnamon too. There's something in this I don't care for. It smells mediciney with a plastic smell. Not sure I like this. I do like the cinnamon but the rest smells kind of icky. Mold's coming out now. Ack, what's in this? A panoply of cultural treasures, spanning the herbs, flowers, oils and balms of the Romans, the Byzantines, the Mediterranean, the Levant, Northern China, Eastern Europe, Iran, the Bulgar-Kypchak, Mesopotamia, the Crimean Peninsula, Anatolia, Antioch, and North Africa.
What's up with all the non scent descriptions bpals I've been reviewing lately? Seems like most of the reviwers on bpal like it, maybe my vial has turned? I'll have to see if this gets better as it soaks into my skin but so far I don't have much hope.
I kept reading the reviews and the reviews from page one are so different from page three....with more people not liking it as the oil aged.
http://www.bpal.org/topic/12460-silk-road/
There were far more good reviews when the oil was first released compared to later. On some the scent disappeared after a few hours but I can tell mine isn't going to do that. In fact I bet in 8 hours I will still smell it on my hand.
Into the give away box it goes. If it changes into something good I will be back to say that. Don't hold your breath. LOL
Edit: Some 5 hours later. Okay this turned nice. Sultry on the skin but it did fade! I was wrong on both points. Still not a big bottle winner.

Blizzard's gone
We made it to work but neither work had power so after 3 hours hubby picked me up and we went shopping!! (He works up the street from me-how convenient! Said like The Church lady)
We went to Sam's Club and nabbed up a bunch of reduced beef. That's the only way to buy beef--reduced! I worked in grocery the first 14 years of my working life. The last 5 I also worked in the meat department. Soooooooo $215.00 later...okay okay I also bought some Pinot Grigio-and I'm not even a wine drinker....but Drew Barrymore makes her own now so I wanted to try some.
We've also been buying the dogs some christmas presents..SSSSHHHHHH...big bags of beef jerky, new harnesses, smoked bones, meatballs and new squeak toys that state they are INVINCIBLE! That's right --they keep squeaking even when punctured.....!! We SO need that! There's only been about 5 out of the hundreds of squeak toys we've bought that have kept squeaking. These are long caterpillars that have 8 squeakers each. So we'll see!
I've been singing to the dawgs for the last couple of weeks, especially Santa Claus is Coming To Town. They love that song and get all excited.
When I sing the part where it says "He knows if you've been bad" I point at Stark. When I sing the part " Or good" I point at Ava. Fricking dawgs love it. LOL !
Yeah, we're weird.
I made homemade enchiladas today. Shredded beef. I even made the enchilada sauce. It's so good! The third time I've made this sauce instead of using the canned sauce.
This is from Mexican Made Easy on the Food Channel:
Directions
In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, place 4 cups water, the guajillo chilies, garlic cloves and white onion and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to simmer until the chiles are soft and tender, about 25 minutes. Transfer the boiled vegetables, the tomato and 2 cups of the boiling liquid to a large blender and set aside to cool before blending. Process until smooth. Season with 1 teaspoon salt and a pinch of black pepper.
In a medium, heavy saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Strain the pureed guajillo salsa into the pan. Add the bay leaf and simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes. Taste for seasoning, adding additional salt and pepper as desired.
Reserve for enchiladas and pork.
Cook's Note: For ease of preparation, you can use 2 store-bought, canned whole tomatoes, seeded, in place of 1 fresh, boiled tomato.
I DID use canned tomatoes this time since tomatoes are out of season here.
This is SO good!
I cooked some beef ribs (no bones) in some water flavored with chicken granules, minced onion, minced garlic, a pinch of cumin and a bay leaf, salt and pepper. Cooked them until they were falling apart easily. I made sure the beef was well seasoned, I didn't want it bland.
Then I cooked some chopped jalapeno pepper, chopped green pepper and chopped onion in some oil until soft, then added some cream cheese and mozzarella. Cooked it until blended. I dipped some tortillas in the enchilada sauce, spread the cream cheese on half of the tortilla, then topped with the meat and rolled them and placed into a casserole dish. Made 5 of those and topped them with the enchilada sauce, baked at 350 for 20 minutes then topped with shredded cheddar cheese and baked another 10 minutes.
I'm in the mood for a blind pick.....
Fire For Thy Stepmother's Daughters
WTF? Another weird named bpal. Light in color. Light yellow.
Floral and lemony in the vial. This ebay seller must not have liked lemon bpals because this is the second one from this box from the same seller. The last one, Santa Eularia Des Riu, that was lemon was freaking awesome.
Not so lemony now that's it's wet on my hand. More fruity. I like it. Fruity bubblegum. Kind of feminine too. Girly. I was kinda expecting smoky, or fiery or dragon's blood, but this is far from any of those. I am getting a citrus but faint. I like this a lot. Big bottle for sure. If I can find one. What's in this?
Flaming coals, hellfire, and blackened bone.
Nope, it's not that at all. Even other reviewers get: This goes on like a fruity floral, almost like lotus. If I sniff up close I can tell there's some fire and coals to the scent, but for whatever reason, my brain translates it into dusky, fruity floral. It's a little spicy, too, which becomes more apparent as it dries. How in the world does that fit this scent, given the notes, you might ask? Well, it works. It's a low and smoldering scent, very subtle but definitely 'there'. I'm sure this will vary from person to person, though (it might be really strong to someone else). But for me, it's subtle. Even though it's very floral, it has the mood of glowing coals.Still, it's mostly a sweet, fruity-floral thing.
I can see how it might dry down into a smoky scent. I am loving this as it dries. It's fruity, sensual and smoky. I have to get a big bottle of this one. This is crazy good. Very unique. Definitely not something you'd find in an over the counter scent, so this would be unique to wear. I'd expect people to ask what I was wearing with this one. Going into my top ten faves for now.

This is from Mexican Made Easy on the Food Channel:
Ingredients
24 guajillo chiles, stemmed, seeded and deveined
4 cloves garlic, peeled
1/2 medium white onion, peeled
1 vine ripened tomato, boiled 30 seconds, peeled and seeded
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 bay leaf
Directions
In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, place 4 cups water, the guajillo chilies, garlic cloves and white onion and bring to a boil. Blizzard!!
Yeah! Happening right now. I'm all ready for work but waiting for hubby so we can ride together. I was up at 5:45 pushing 8 inches of snow off our 4 wheel drive pickup. It's heavy snow too. Ack.
Travel is not recommended but that doesn't stop Iowans! We LIVE for this crap. Well, I do anyway. LOL

Finally!
I finally got some citric acid. I had to buy from a different seller because I haven't received the first stuff I ordered. I emailed the seller and she/he ignored me and I had to email again 4 days later. They say their Post office doesn't scan their items in. uh huh. It was supposed to be here December 4th or 5th. Me thinks I'm gonna hafta file a claim to get my money back.
But now I can make my bath bombs! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could make a happy face emoticon..... :) Guess the excessive exclamation points will have to do.
I found this on youtube the other day. It's 3 hours of Christmas songs!!

I love it! Da bomb!
I can tell ya though. I LOVE White Phoenix by BPAL. Love it Love it Love it. It turns into this sandalwoody elegance as the day goes on.
Sorry Missy Hype Girl (where's that Sisi?? :) ) that I don't have Lick It. I'm surprised i don't. I will see if i can find it on Ebay and win it. :)
Blind pick!!
Whoso List To Hunt
Hassasawhassawhat? WTF? Who comes up with these names. ? Freaking me out.
Gonna be a keeper. I can tell that already wet on the back of my hand.
The lightest yellow in color.
Vetiver?? I get that sunflower seed smell. But nice. Maybe an amber or golden musk? A light rotten smell that's actually quite interesting and not at all off putting. Seems like there's a fruit here too. Mango? Peach? Something sticky sweet. What's in this?
Sensual brown musk, rich amber, English rose, oak bark, and moss.
Wow! I was pretty close. I didn't look either, I swear on my dawgs' lives. I think the rose mixing with the moss is what's giving that rotten smell. The rose is actually coming out more as it dries down. No wonder I like this. I love rose. I'm not a moss lover tho. It's a keeper. Possible big bottle winner, but i will need to wear it to work to see how it plays all day.
Have you seen this?? Click on it, you'll love it. I PROMISE. Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye.
Later: This turns all musky ambery. Truly heady and delightful. A Skin scent as all get out.
Later Later: Absolutely awesome scent. Amber turbocharged with musk on smell down. This is a scent you'll want to stroke along your neckline. It's sturdy, sultry, sexy.
Wet, I still get that sunflower seed smell. I like that. This seems egyptian, ethiopian, asian. Peppery. smooth, undulating.
I love Debauchery. Peace out.

Another BPAL blind pick from the 300+ imps I have that I've never smelled. I know......it's addiction, don't judge. ;)
Psyche!!
No really. That's the name of the bpal. <smirk> Where's my hype girls? It's been a while.
This has no color, it's clear.
In the vial and wet on the hand it's kind of mediciney.....which I normally don't like, but this doesn't seem too bad.....yet anyway. I smell pine or moss, or green-ness. Maybe some vetiver. Spearmint. KIND OF, but NOT. yeah, minty...must be the pine.
I'm listening to this right now.

I also like this one:
I like Psyche. Let's see what's in it. The tale of Cupid and Psyche is both a perfect love story and an allegory for the soul's search to reunite with Deity. This is the scent of true love, your heart's deepest, purest desires. Bulgar rose, Chinese white musk, lavender, orchid and frankincense.
I was so effing wrong!! Ha!! OMG I just realized. WHAT A PSYCHE! Too fucking funny!! I've been HAD!
This would be good as a room spray or in my oil burner. I do like it on too though. Not a big bottle winner but I like it.

Bah! I still don't have my citric acid. I do have the fillable xmas balls though, to make my bath bombs.

Ironic, considering it's Christmas
Santa Eularia Des Riu
That's beautiful sounding, what's that mean??
Oh, wikipedia says it's a town
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Eul%C3%A0ria_des_Riu
Light yellow in color....nah, maybe a medium yellow....
Lemon!! I can tell I like this already! This reminds me of Posset's Naples Yellow but this seems creamier. This might be a contender for Posset's Limoncello Rosmarino too! I will have to see what this dries down into. Crazy good though. Tart, heavy lemon. Not even close to smelling like lemon furniture polish. So GOOD!
What's in this? Piquant citrus tempered by jasmine, soft Mediterranean herbs, lavender and orange blossom.
No wonder I love it. I like all of the above except for lavender, but I only dislike lavender if it's too strong. In this it isn't.
This is Da Bomb. LOVE IT! BIG BOTTLE WINNER for sure!! 5 big bottles!! 10!!

Free purse/handbag!!
Went shopping today. I have our Office manager for Secret Santa. So we went to Gordman's to find 5x7 picture frames. We found a bunch of other things also, two shirts for Jeff, some peacock colored christmas decorations (I plan to make a peacock colored wreath soon), and a bunch of other stuff. As we walked by the purses I saw one made with long fur. I had to stop. I looked it over. The straps were the right length, it zipped and had several smaller pockets, plus the inside zippered pocket and cell phone pocket. Plus it was big. I like being able to get an umbrella in my purses, plus all the crap I carry. So I looked and it was 49.99. Sigh. Jeff said I could have it as a birthday present. SCORE! It's a Kathy Vanzeeland too, and has a cute 4 heart charms hanging off of it. So we head to the check out, and after the casier was done she took a scratch off card from a deck of them she had. Evidently you get to scratch it off after buying everything to see if you won 10%, 35%, 50% or 100% off your highest item. So she is scratching it off for us and it said 100%. I got the purse for free!!!!

Bath fizzy bombs!
I am a bath ho. Some of you know that already.
So I am addicted to Lush, BPAL, Moonalisa etc. Lush bath bombs are pretty pricey even in a Lush store. When I go to New Orleans I hit the Lush on Decatur and spend well over 100.00 bucks every time. I also get some Lush on ebay, but the shipping is a killer since the products tend to be heavy. I also found a seller on ebay that makes homemade bath bombs and sells them at a nice price. I have bought 23 from her so far....got the second box of them today. Xmas gifts mainly.
Here's her website. http://www.ibeautygifts.com/
No, I do not know her! She just makes hellish bath bombs for $1.35 each and they are big too! Smell great and since she uses oils and butters in them my skin is really soft and moisturized. I have 4 of her soaps too and have purchased a second bar of the African Violet soap.
So...I have decided to make them myself. Scented with all the bpals that I have. Since I use a bath bomb for every bath I figure it's a good way to use my bpals since I will NEVER use them all in my lifetime.
So I've been watching youtube videos on how to make them. I have no desire to sell them. I could never anyway because my dawgs shed (plus the 4 cats) so much I couldn't guarantee that they wouldn't have a hair or two in them. I wouldn't even be able to give them away for fear of that. LOL Sad isn't it. Maybe if I was immaculate, but I'm not and refuse to be. My mom was and I think it made her crazy. ROFLMAO!!!
Today arrived the raw cocoa (cacao) butter, kaolin clay and I bought a 13 lb bag of baking soda from Sam's Club. Now I just need to wait for the citric acid, clear fillable xmas balls, and witch hazel to arrive. I think I will also be purchasing shea butter, other butters, and some oils like grapeseed and sweet almond. I'm so excited! What excites me the most is I can make them with my fave bpal fragrance and make them as heavily scented as I want!
I'm gonna be the best smelling bitch on the block!!
I'll keep you all advised on how I do.....If I had the citric acid I could make some today but alas....
The cocoa butters are in the shape of little rounds the size of a quarter and smell really good. So I took one out and it melts in my palm. So cool. My Ava dawg has really dry pads on her feet and she tends to slip on the vinyl floor so I rubbed some into the pads of her feet. Freaking dawg loved it. She even lifted up her last back foot so I could get to it. ROFL I think it's going to absorb better than people lotion does and also I am not afraid if she licks this stuff either. So WIN WIN!
I wore The Little matchGirl to work yesterday. Bpal. LOVE IT. It kept getting better and better as the day went on. Super feminine smelling.
I'm in the mood to brine a chicken. Haven't really done that yet but for some reason it's been brought to my attention several times in the last couple months so I think it's like a hint from God or sumpin. Either my brother brings it up or Guy Fieri makes one on his show, or it's on another Food Network cooking show......it's just being pushed at me....so I figure I'm gonna do it. I mean, who am I to not heed a God hint, right?
Since I haven't done a blind bpal oil lately, let's do one.
Queen
Knew Bpal had several oils with Queen in the name...Pumpkin Queen, Queen Alice, The Red Queen, Queen of Sheba etc etc...didn't know they had one named just QUEEN. (Wasn't that a hellish rock group tho??!!)
Light yellow in color.
In the vial it seems citrusy but wet on the skin it isn't. Do I detect vetiver....just a slight hint? It seems kind of creamy, sunflower seed smell, floral, yeah, there's a citrus here too it seems. Seems royal too. I don't know if it's just the name influencing that thought or not....but it does seem rather regal....like a Queen would wear this. I can't really pinpoint any specific ingredient in this. It's complex and hard to define.
What's in this?
For use only by women. An extremely potent passion blend, used to great effect when you're converting feminine sexual energy into power.
Bah! No scent description. Go here to read the reviews:
http://www.bpal.org/topic/4946-queen/
Some got that regal royal feeling too! Now I feel smug. Snort. Like Sheldon on Big Bang Theory.

After all that tech talk let's get to the real discussion. QUEEN!!!

Corvette envy
That's what I have. Corvette envy.
It's one of those things I've always wanted.
Haven't got a clue why.
Really.
I'm listening to Don Henly Dirty Laundry right now.

Some bad things happening right now. Clarice at work, her dad just died today. She loved him a lot.
I don't even know how to talk to my Dad. I love him tho. We went to Memphis and New Orleans last May together with him and his gal.
I feel like I am this monotone voice lately. I'm starting the change, so bear with me. Isn't that great?
Eff. Yeah!
I feel like jumping on him. (my husband)
I have to pee. LOL

Blind pick from Sharkdiver's Imps that I bought from her.
The Scales of Deprivation
I wanted a weird one so pulling this one out was somewhat ironic. It's a middle gold color. Like not dark but not light either. Middle.
I was really wanting a patchouli scent this time. I'm 'in the mood'. Which means it's Friday and I have about 3 Bud Lites down me. LOL I making up for lost time not drinking all week.
In the vial it reminds me of the sweat from a knight in shining armour. Peppery, steely gray, cologne-like and sinister.
There is a musk or something resiny to this. It's quite bright actually. Slightly sunflower seedy and metal.
It's one of those scents that I adore but can't wear in public because most people wouldn't like it. It's too 'different'. Almost manly in a way. Something that I alone adore. I know Jeff wouldn't like it either. ....but I should have him smell it. He's weird. The scents I think he won't like he does, and the ones I do think he'll like, he doesn't. I think we're on two different smell planes. I'm in first class and he's holed up in the cargo area. hehe I shouldn't talk about him so negatively since I actually like him.
Oy! all of a sudden I am reading all of these books that have Judaism or Jewish characters in them. What's up wid dat? The Prince of Tides...then this other mystery suspense novel that I actually had to toss in the garbage..... it was that bad. Isn't that funny how that happens? Like once I read a story about a dog, then the next book I read was about a dog too. Then the third book was a dog book. Freaky! I can name all the books too.
Merle's Door
Marly and Me
Racing in the Rain
Good books, so read them will ya!?! :)
The Scales of Deprivation is the BOMB. Incredible scent. It's super unique. Musky, sensual, metallic, lemony, heady. What's in this?
Thin, dark, and shadowed. A scent that offers no sustenance, comfort or satiety: lemon peel, white sage, frankincense, lavender fougere, sandalwood, vetiver and labdanum.
This satisfies me immensely. Seriously. Exactly what I was looking for tonight.
BIG BOTTLE WINNER

Guess what!?
I am going to start making my own bath fizzy bombs. Not for sale, just for personal use. I have to! I'm tired of not only paying for them but paying the shipping too. bah! LOL
Plus I can make bpal bombs!! Yeah!
It's starting to get cold here in Iowa. We've been really lucky so far that we haven't had any snow. But it's COMING! WINTER IS COMING! As the Game of Thrones would say.
OMG Frosty the Snowman is on! Memories!! Gotta go!!

I have this cat.....
that likes to lie on his back. Like, all the time. When we first got him 6 years ago, he had this chronic diarrhea thing going on and I thought he just laid on his back because his tummy felt better.
I was wrong.
It had nothing to do with his stomach.
He just likes being upside down. He does it all the time but it's like clockwork if the dogs go out. Here comes Mojo.....on his back in the middle of the living room once we close the back door after letting the dogs out. Now don't get me wrong, it's not only when the dogs are outside. It's usually ALL the time. It's freaky. Picture an obese long haired orange cat upside down in the middle of the room in every room that you have. And he doesn't move. You can step right over him without him freaking out. The dogs don't even notice him anymore, that's how much of a staple he is lying there. We're all used to it!
So there he is with his big gut all spread out like a squished pumpkin laying in the middle of the road.
I told you all already.....I have some freaky ass animals.....So if you stop by, please ignore the McDonald's straws on the floor (cat toys), the excessive squeaky dawg toys, and the orange cat that thinks he's directing traffic using his body.
Ignore Ignore Ignore!
Otherwise............ you aint gettin' in.

Sail away..............................
My BFF gave me a bunch of cookbooks today. I don't know why she even has cookbooks. She can't cook. She told me one time she made instant potatoes and didn't realize that the water needed to be boiling before she added the flakes. So she adds the flakes, reads the box and realizes she messed up. So she dumps all of it in the garbage to start over. She says about 15 minutes later she looks in the garbage and lo and behold, there was instant potatoes. ROFLMAO....now that's funny. Once we went over there and she was pulling some things out of the oven on a large cookie sheet and exclaimed, "LOOK WHAT I MADE!!"
It was english muffins with jarred pizza sauce and pepperoni and mozzarella cheese mini pizzas. So I think you get the idea on what I'm talking about here...... haha! Gotta love her. And I do. :)
All Souls (2007)
This is from bpals 2007 Halloween collection.
Yum in the bottle. Yes this is a 5ml of this one. I think it might have blood in it. It seems simmery. Foodie too but not a sweet foodie.
Wet on the wrist. Strawberry or cherry. Head shop smell. I feel a slight tingle on my wrist. Cinnamon? There's a flamboyant floral in this one. Like jasmine or lavender or lilac, maybe gardenia or honeysuckle. I'm also getting a musk.
It's getting a lot more floral as it dries. I love this and will have to wear it to work on Monday to see how it plays all day. I am really liking the resin/floral combination on this.
What's in it? ... An incense blend that invokes the higher qualities of mercy and compassion, mingled with the soft, sugared currant scent of offertory soul cakes.
Yay! There's a scent description....not much of one though. Booo.
Is everyone ready for Thanksgiving! I watched The Pioneer Woman's show on the Food Network today. She made a brined turkey that looked to die for. The way she shows how to cook foods reminds me of Anne Burrell, they both make it look so easy to make certain foods, so I'm not so scared to try to make it!
This All Souls needs slathered!!
It does smell somewhat foodie at first. Like maple syrup or gingerbread dough or something along those lines. Very chewy, honeyed, molasses cookies, or sweet brown buttered squash. Just everything sweet and bakery for the holidays. Then it turns musky. A good musk. Notice how this turned sweet foodie too?? I think this is one of those scents that men like their women to smell like. The homecook wife making toll house chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin pie, bread. Me thinks it goes back to mom cooking in the kitchen when they were growing up.
Okay, maybe that's too extreme, but that's what I pictured.
Is this better?

Door 13
I received a half of a bottle of Door 13 today. Had no idea what it smelled like. It was listed on Ebay and just by the reviews I knew I wanted it.
It starts out fruity and floral....then mellows into a nice minty, sexy concoction. Somewhat metallic, but actually reminds me a lot of very expensive over the counter women's perfumes.
The graphic on the bottle is what first caught my attention. A skull. Who doesn't love skulls? Day of the Dead jewelry is a fave of mine. This skull has really big holes where the eyes were. I had pulled up bpal listings and ran off to cook dinner. When I came back there were several listings up with their pics all in a line going down. As I came closer to the comp this one really caught my eye because of the skull.

Isn't that cool?? So of course I had to click on the listing! No lab description. Bah!! Have I made that clear that I hate that?? ack! So after reading the posts, and 99% being positives, it. was. mine....since it was a buy it now. :)
It came in the mail today. At first I couldn't smell anything. And I thought, WTF!? So I slopped some on the back of my hand and got that first rush of candy fruit. Still, I was unimpressed. So I continued to ebay, read some discussion boards and kept getting whiffs of this slightly cold minty fruity goodness. Door 13 had finally opened! I kept thinking this isn't half bad!
I had also gotten off work early because we'd pulled in over $710,000 in collections last month so we were awarded a two hour bonus time off this month and I took it today, so I got home early. After perusing a few sites, smelling my hand, reading some blogs, smelling my hand, listening to Party All The Time song by Eddie Murphy on youtube (why am I lately addicted to that fucking song?????), smelling my hand, I was thoroughly worn out and I decided to take a Lush bath. And if you think THIS wears me out, you should see what sex does to me!!! I'm laid up for days!! bwahahahahaha!! TMI TMI! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
I have these bubbleroons by Lush that are freaking awesome. They are these small bubble balls that have lotion in them or sumpin because they are soft and dissolve into the water creating this marvelous softness and smell.... Well, anyway...I get done with my Lush bath and my hand still had Door 13 left on it!! NO CRAP! But now it's a musky (yet still lively) sultry smell. "I must put more on!!!", I say!
OMG
Can you say heart stopping good? Say it. Just say it. HEART. STOPPING. GOOD. ;)
Awesomeness in a bottle. Too bad I wasn't posting on bpal right now screamin my joy! heehee
I must say.....smelling Door 13 and listening to Party All The Time has GOT to be one of the best things about being alive. Thank you e-Bay. Thank you Youtube. Thank you Bpal.
Clap! Clap!!
( I totally realize this is like the cheesiest corniest video/song out there....BUT I LOVE IT!!!)

Oranges to apples and no more cats!
Okay, I gotta get back to posting. ;) I bet you all think I've been in the bathtub this whole time huh!!!??? I meant with my Moonalisa stuff I got! ha!
Noooooooooooo! <shaking my finger>
Been lazy. That's it. The truth. Too lazy to type. Or maybe 'wasn't in the mood's a better answer. Oh well, whatever. I'm back.
I haven't decided what to make for supper yet. Last night I made homemade alfredo with garlic shrimp. Tonight's garbage night too. Tomorrow is trash day and my husband has named the night before as Garbage Night. That means we have to scoop all the litter boxes (8 of them--I know, right? Seems like a lot for 4 cats....but....... it's what we have), gather all the trash in the small trash cans throughout the house, so he can take all the garbage to the curb in the morning. pffffff
He get's all hypertensive about it too. Like if he walks in tonight and I haven't started 'garbage night' he's pissed. My responsibilities are the 5 litter boxes on the main floor, and all the garbage cans too (5 total-one in each room except the kitchen). His responsibilties are the 3 litter boxes in the basement and the 1 garbage can in the basement bathroom. Sounds unfair right? Nope. Because the cats like the basement litter boxes better!! Mine have like 4 pees and 4 poops total in all 5!!! Hehe....his has like all the rest!! 4 cats x a week of pottying!
NO MORE CATS. NO MORE CATS. NO MORE CATS. NO MORE CATS.
I chant this every day.
When I see a cute little kitten I have to smack myself upside my head, really hard like I need to hear bells and see stars type smack. Notice I'm not laughing? Yeah.
Blind pick!
Ladon
Gold in color. Ooooh, nicely sweet and solid. Sweet but it still has some depth in it. Reminds me of an orange flower. Like a sunflower. I am liking this a lot! I don't know if this has oranges in it but it sure makes me think that. This is a warm smell. Smoky. Sunshiney. Definitely a big bottle winner.
What's in this: The hundred-headed dragon that guards the garden of the Hesperides: dragon's blood resin, golden apple, apple blossom, white musk and hyacinth.
Oh it's apple! That's what I smelled. I should have realized that since I have Golden Apple of the Sun. In fact this reminds me of that. I will get that bottle out to compare.
Golden Apple is a lot more appley while Ladon is warmer. I like Ladon better. Where's Elin when I need her, she'd love this. Here's what Golden Apple of the Sun has in it:
Golden apple with amber, hibiscus, carnation, frankincense, golden spiced tea, ginger, and champaca flower.
Now I don't get much of the champaca in the Golden Sun, but I do get the musk in Ladon. I think that's why I like it better because the musk really makes it warm and enveloping.
While Golden Apple seems to me to be more like a rotting apple, Ladon is sweet and freshly picked with the musk and blood resin giving it some depth. Edible.
Golden Apple is not edible, but it's unique in it's own way.
Both remind me of this song:
BE SURE TO CLICK THE BOX ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT TO MAKE IT FULL SCREEN. OH AND TAKE A HIT OF ACID FIRST. LOL JUST KIDDING!!

Brown cats
Why aren't there brown cats? I mean it. There really aren't any solid brown colored cats. I mean brown like a boot. All one solid color. And BROWN. Sable. Cognac. A brown color. BROWN. I don't know why I need to enforce that, but I do.
Some people can say their cat is almost black with a brown tinge at the ends of the hairs.
DOESN'T even QUALIFY.
My cat's a brown tiger cat.
Stripes?
DOESN'T QUALIFY.
Solid mother effing brown man.
OMG. I just realized if I was making a big too doo about brown cats. Then why aren't there green?
Orange..... well there are orange cats....but they aren't 'orange' per se.. I have an orange cat. Two actually. One short haired and one long. Marly is 16 years old and short haired. Mojo is 6 yrs old and incredibly beautiful. Even he knows it.

I love ebay. :)
Bpal needs to make an Ebay oil. It should smell like car parts, used clothing, shoes, soap, books, and vinyl albums. hehe
Blind pick!
Kubla Khan
Wonder if that's any relation to Genghis Khan? <smirk>
If it is then Kubla must be the underacheiver cousin that no one wants to talk about. Everyone hopes he doesn't wind up in prison or marrying a centipede or something weird like that. Poor Kubla. tsk tsk
Really light yellow in color.
How many hands are up guessing this is another freaking floral!! One, two, three.......all I see is three hands. Hey, but that's out of three total so that's a majority! Wooo hoooo! I'm glad you all were willing to cast your votes. I have such super Hype Girls. :) Oh wait, one is mine. sigh
Smells somewhat mediciney in the vial. Yeah, there's a tinge of that wet on the hand too but it's bursts with candy! Minty too. A goooood mint. Missy this is for you!! You'd love this. I LIKE THIS!!
It's not a floral!! Yay!!! But that means we were all wrong. I could go back up and change our answers.......but that would be cheating, wouldn't it. Okay I won't do it.
What's in this?
Through sunlit caves of ice, roses unfurl amidst dancing waves of serpentine opium smoke and amber tobacco, golden sandalwood, champaca, tea leaf, sugared lily, ginger, rich hay absolute, leather, dark vanilla, mandarin, peru balsam, and Moroccan jasmine.
Fucking liars. I think they make this shit up. LOL
Okay, I'll admit.....I get the sugared lily.....okay I'll give them that one....and maybe the dark vanilla.....but the rest??!! Bullcrap! ;)
OPIUM SMOKE CANNOT DANCE!
I LOVE THIS, and it's definitely a big bottle winner for me. So now I'm thinking Kubla Khan is Genghis' gay cousin. Which means he is NOT an underacheiver and he has a male chihuahua named Tinkerbell. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Later: about an hour. Kubla turns ambery musky. I was petting Stark and I got this whiff of a musky smell and knew it wasn't him. Smelled my hand. Oh wow. Kubla Khan turns sultry!!

Per request-the most awesome rhubarb pie ever!
Aunt Pat's Rhubarb Pie
Ingredients
- 2 pie shells
- 4 cups rhubarb cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/3 cup white sugar
- 2 tbls red Jello-(strawberry, cherry, even watermelon works great)
- 3 tbls instant tapioca
- 1 tsp orange zest or fresh orange peel
- Butter or margarine
Directions
- Mix the sugar and salt with the Jello. Toss the sugar mixture with the rhubarb. Let sit for at least 1/2 hour or more.
- Then add the tapioca and orange zest to the rhubarb mixture.
- Put 1 pieshell in bottom of pie pan. Pour in rhubarb mixture. Place a few dollops of butter/margarine on top of mixture, then top with 2nd pie shell. Flute. Make some splits in the top. I usually make a big happy face. LOL Optional:Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle some white sugar over it.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Cover edges with aluminum foil. Lower oven temp to 350. Then bake an additional 40 minutes or until as brown as you'd like it.
I submitted this on Allrecipes but they've never approved it yet. Bah! The tapioca and jello gives some body to the sauce so it isn't runny. You could add strawberries too.
Love in Idleness. I do not have that. Can you believe it!! LOL
So to make up for it, I will do this one.
Fire Of Love
It's pink! I've seen red bpals but never pink. In the vial I first thought 'fiesty' when I smelled it. This is stro-o-o-o-o-o-ng. Gotta be jasmine or lavendar. It POPS! I think it's jasmine because it's kind of reminding me of Lush's Lust soap and perfume. It's also turning soapy. Rose are you in there??
This is one strong floral soap. Gorgeous too!
What's in this? Bah! There's no description. I hate that!! A catalytic, potent love oil used to spark (or rekindle) the flame of desire between lovers.
My husband wouldn't like this so no flames in this house tonight.. hehe
The reviews are all over the place on bpal, some get ginger, some get baby diapers, some cedar or wood, some musk.
I still think it's jasmine. I like it, but no big bottle winner.
1/2 hr later: Nope it's roses.

Sirens!
Today was the first Saturday of the month and my city always tests their emergency sirens at noon. Today was no exception. Now, I've never taught my dawgs to pay any attention to storms or sirens. In fact we live 2 blocks from a fire station and we are on one of the main streets so we have paramedics and fire engines squeal by quite frequently. Doesn't bother my dawgs a bit.
But the sirens on the first Saturday of the month??? That creates a whole howling system between the two of them that lasts for the entire 60 seconds the sirens are set off.
Today Ava was in the bedroom sleeping on the bed. Me and Stark were in the living room when the sirens went off. Stark jumps on the couch while I open the window (yeah, I'm an enabler!) and starts howling. I hear Ava wake up in the bedroom and she starts howling from there. So of course I have to join in.....and the three of us wailed for a minute. It's a freaking riot. LOL I'm going to get video to post next time. I attribute it to them being German Shepherds, and it's probably ingrained into their heritage. Hearing sirens I mean. LOL I don't know. All I know is it's freaky crazy and if anyone is ever walking by at the time I'm sure they think we're crazy. HA~
Blind pick.
Blue Morpho
Super light yellow in color. Sweet in the vial. I'm thinking lilacs and violets. LOL If I say violets it's gonna be roses....just watch!! HA! This is sugary sweet on the hand. Uber feminine. It's not so much floral either.....it's more like a sweet perfume from the olden days....like victorian. There's also something bitey in it like carnation. So even though it's amazingly feminine, it's also strong and frisky.I love this and will have to get a big bottle. It's seems complex, like I like.
What's in this?
Wild orchid, pikake, honeysuckle, calla lily, agave nectar, pink geranium, violet leaf, and white amber.
Ahhhh, I love honeysuckle. The amber and agave is keeping this from being too big of a flower bouquet. They ground the florals to make them seamless and well blended together. What a beautiful scent. I love this combination. It still reminds me of a fragrance from old. Something from long ago but timeless. Audry Hepburn would have worn this.

Where's my homies? Hype Girls??
Homies be missin'! No chatter, comments or letting me know you're there! :) Bad Hype Girls!
I'm watching my three Ellen episodes I have DVR'd. I love Ellen. If I was gay she'd be my celebrity crush. LOL
Why is it the least known actors are the most comfortable on TV, but people like Denzel are totally uneasy. Isn't he great though? He was chosen the best actor by the public for playing the role of Jesus Christ in a movie. Or something like that. I forget the correct verbage. LOL I heard it on Bob and Tom.
Chick rocks. He's my God. He's on Bob & Tom. Actually he's my husband in another man's body. LOL I understand him in every way.
I was going to get on on a tangent about laughing......but decided against it. effin weird
I've been reading Chelsea Handler's books. Freaking hilarious! Talk about laughing.
I'm going to do a review.
Of BPAL. ;)
The caps get your attention? Blind pick? U want a blind pick?
If this goes wrong. It's not my fault.....
I need to take video of this because I really do pick up a 100 count bullet case/ammo case and swirl my hand over it then close my eyes and stop and drop my hand into the imps. Sad. I know. Maybe weird? LOL
Wrath
Have I reviewed tha earlier? It's red. You're disappointed. I'm moving on.
Namaste
Yellow in color.
Pine Sol.
In the vial.
Lemon on the back of the hand.
Crazy bold lemon. I can't believe I love lemon. Especially like this. It's a true, clear lemon. Lemon pie with no top crust. With lemon wedges laid across the top. Sweet and surprisingly tart in one smell swoop. Southern lemonade with no sugar, just lemon and ice, the smell permeating the surroundings.
I think I've reviewed this one too. LOL
Anyone remember when MTV had the video contest and MTV viewers were supposed to make a video to Madonna's song True Blue. Remember hearing that song every 3 minutes for two freaking days? Thankfully I still love the song, regardless. Now that's a feat. LOL!
Namaste, Namaste.....haunting, familiar, scary and lemon to the 9th degree. It's like the perfect lemon and rivals Possets Limoncello: Giardino Rosmarino. Rosmarino turns gentle, feminine, florally,
herb-y and sweet.
Namaste stays tart, tangy and lemon, but I can tell it's mellowing.....yum yum
Madonna. I love you.
Now play the following video every 3 minutes for the next 48 hours. Yeah.
Did anyone get that?

Moonalisa!!!Moonalisa!!
I got my Moonalisa package!!! Now if you've never received an order from Moonalisa you're in for a treat!! Not only does she package her orders with creativity and lots of colored papers etc, but she always gives little treats that you didn't order!
This is what it first looked like when I opened the box. And this time she had a contest where she put a sealed envelope in the box. Unfortunately I didn't win. Booo! Also when I opened it it smelled soo good!! Sweet and really girly!
Her Pumpkin Batter items are the best smelling pumpkin I've ever smelled. So now I can layer! Before all I had was a bath gel (that I'm coveting but now I can use it up!!!) and a spray bottle of the perfume. I can't wait to use the scrub parfait. It's has three levels of color in it. It's sugar scrub on the bottom and top and in between the scrub layers is a layer of body cream that's orange in color. My bathtub's gonna stop up for sure! LOL

There's my contest envelope!
No win, but I got a cute little ball with a purple fuzzy ball inside. It'll be a cat toy! They'll love it!
She also includes little cards that can be collected. One Moonalisa fan gal decoupages them on furniture!
They wrap each item individually. So much fun!! All the while I am smelling the most delightful fun and fantastic smell!
The delightful smell in the box is some free Blood Orange Bubbling Bath Brew they threw in! It's the item in the starburst looking bag on the left. I ordered all Pumpkin Batter items. Three bath gels (background), one bath scrub (forefront in orange tub), a lotion potion (farthest right) and a perfume oil (skinny tiny item in middle). The blue small item in the middle is a free Winter Porridge with Apple Strudel winter rich cream! The perfume oil even came in a cute little box (in the picture above with the gold ribbon)! Her Pumpkin Batter items are the best smelling pumpkin I've ever smelled. So now I can layer! Middle age and some bpal....
Okay home from work now, wearing my cheetah print leggings and my husband's shirt. Shhhhhh, don't tell him! He get's mad! He says I stain them.... like he doesn't! bah!
TODAY'S MY BEST FRIEND IN THE WHOLE WORLD'S 50TH BIRTHDAY!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
SHE MADE IT-SHE MADE IT! Hahahahaha!!
And I can't get a hold of her, she's out at the casino!! Bwahahahahhahahaha!! Everyone should have a best friend like mine. I love her more than I love some of my family members. lol
How much you want to bet she will get home, see I called, call me and say, "Why don't you come on up!!" (she lives up the hill 4 blocks away) and here I am --no bra- no underwear- cheetah leggings from when I weighed 140 (I'm now 195), and my husband's 4x shirt with stains all over it. Snort. I can tell you don't want to picture that.... Can't say I blame ya. ;)
Blind pick from the bpal bullet case (ammo box, what have ya)....
Must be a decant because it's a nicely written handmade label. It says on one side:
In Brightness and In Joy
and on the other it says: The Little match Girl Yule 2011. So I think that's the series and the oil is the In Brightness name.
Light yelow in color.
In the vial it's super pretty, know I love it already. Another floral....what is it with me getting all these florals lately?? Well, I guess that last one wasn't really a floral but it sure seemed like one to me.
Wet on the back of my hand: This is very feminine. Truly BEAUTIFUL. And....I have NO idea what's in this. All of it blends so well together, makes it hard to decipher. It's bright and happy. Almost a citrus but not quite there. I already know I want a big bottle (may be hard to locate), so that tells ya something. well, actually it doesn't, since I like 95% of the bpals I smell. ROFL (wagging finger) but not ALL are big bottle winners, so there. This is so utterly feminine it's just crazy. Like what the girl next door would smell like. Kate Hudson or even Katy Perry (who is the girl next door with an edge). Did you know Katy Perry's real name is Kate Hudson? Yep....and I swear I didn't have this planned. She had to find another name because she didn't want to have the same name as Kate Hudson. I forget how she got her name. There was an hour biography on a cable channel about 8 months ago that I watched. I think she's the bomb. I fell in love with her with this interview on Ellen.
Then when she sang Fireworks on Ellen, I was hooked. I'm sad about her and Russell, I think he's the bomb too.
Yes, In Brightness And In Joy really lives up to it's name. Beautiful, bright and joyful. What's in this?
Divine mercy: sweet winter berry, orange blossom, frankincense, golden sandalwood, angel’s trumpet, and red rose.
FRANK!!

By demand from Sisi!! A post! :)
Blind pick.
The Apothecary
Why does that remind me of the old frontier cowboy and indians days?? Also for some reason I was thinking it was a wooden box but it's not. According to Wiki it's :
is a historical name for a medical professional who formulates and dispenses materia medica to physicians, surgeons and patients — a role now served by a pharmacist (or a chemist or dispensing chemist) and some caregivers.
Did you know that Nostradamus was one?? Woooooooo. Well, you can learn that and more on Wikipedia!! Ha!
Okay back to the oil.
Golden in color.
(if this smells like an old dead man I'm gonna vomit)
Whew--I got lucky. This is a floral babay! And a gorgeous one at that. Smells all floral too, I am not getting any pine or metal or resin from it. Now I get to guess what kind of flower. G.r.e.a.t! You know I am SOOOOOO good at that!! ;) They need some little emoticon's on this here blogger....
It's pretty strong so my first guess is jasmine. Then comes lavendar. Not sure though. It's pretty. It does seem to have a bit of mint coming out now. Maybe it's ambergris? I love that whale vomit. Yep, I do think there's some pine here. Isn't that freaky what I said at first, especially if there IS pine in this. heehee I have to look:
Tea leaf with three mosses, green grass, a medley of herbal notes, and a drop of ginger and fig.
Bwahahahaha. No flowers. bwahahahaha! God I suck. LOL
I don't think I'd ever wear this. It's a little too green for me and I like green fragrances too. Ever smelled Grass by The Gap? The original Grass. Ironic because how I got into BPAL was buying that bottle of Grass off ebay, having never smelled it. The seller just described it so wonderfully I knew I had to have it. Then when I knew I wanted that, I decided to look at her other fragrances she had for sale and some were bpals and just the way she described them I knew I wanted to try them too, so I bid on a lot of bpals from her. I'd never even heard of bpal before then. Even being the fragrance ho that I am! No crap! It's all her fault. I blame her. Her name was Annie. She should get the Top Enabler Prize from BPAL. LOL
I will give this some time to mellow out and hopefully check back in later to say it's gorgeous blah blah blah....and to see if I have any more comments!! Yay!!
2 hrs later:
Nope, Apothecary didn't turn nice. Turned kind of lemony actually, and not a nice lemon.
Off to the giveaway pile.

Paella!!
My husband is off doing a show in Ft Dodge Iowa, so I get most of the day to myself. Yay! Isn't that terrible to say yay??!! LOL But I get to watch what I want, do what I want, sleep when I want and eat what I want. Woooohoooo!
Today I plan to make paella. He likes it but it's not a first choice for him, especially if I use smoked paprika in it. His palate is super strong and sensitive and he doesn't care for that or any type of heavily pungent scents...like indian herbs and seasonings etc. So usually I make it (if for dinner for both) without the smoked paprika.
Lori's Paella For One
1 to 2 chicken thighs, cut into bite size pieces, salted and peppered
1/4 cup smoked paprika
1 1/2 tbls oregano
1 tbls olive oil
3 to 4 inch piece sausage, cut into 1/4 to 1/2 inch cubes (any type of sausage-I've used andouille, chorizo, and italian hot-it's all good)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 large carrot, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1/2 red pepper, chopped
1 cup paella rice like Arroz Calasparra
3 cups chicken broth
2 shrimps-in the shell
10 mussels- in the shell, if I have them
1 tomato, chopped, if I have it
I use an authentic paella pan but any skillet would work. Use non-stick if it's available since the rice will not be stirred through the cooking process.
Combine the paprika with the oregano. Then roll the chicken in it to coat.
Add 1 tbls oil to pan and add the sausage. Medium heat. Cook sausage until it's almost crispy and all the fat's rendered out. Leave the oil that's in the pan--so use a slotted spoon to get the sausage out. Put the sausage onto a paper toweled plate.
Add the chicken to the pan. Medium heat. Cook the chicken until browned and remove with slotted spoon to the plate with the sausage.
Now add the onions, celery and carrots to the pan. Medium low heat. Cook until the onions are opaque, then add the garlic. Saute another two minues. Make sure the garlic doesn't burn.
Add the rice to the veggies. Medium heat. Cook it until the rice is covered with the oil then keep stirring it for another 2 minutes.
Now add the chicken and sausage, stir 1 minute. Add 2 cups of the broth.
Now let it sit on low heat. Do not stir! Keep testing the rice in small bites to see if there is enough broth to get the rice soft. I add little spills of broth throughout the process if it needs it. Halfway through this cooktime I add the tomato on top. It can be added when the broth goes in but I find it disappears because it gets cooked too long. When there's just a little bit of liquid left I then bury the shrimps and mussels into the rice and let it cook until the shrimp are done and the mussels open.
Sometimes I pop some frozen peas on top when I add the shrimp.
Enjoy!

Oh! I didn't know I could title a post!! bah!
Blind pick from my bottles. I have about 20 new bottles that I've never smelled. I received them in a lot on ebay.
White Phoenix
I don't know what color the oil is since it's in an amber bottle.
First smell from the bottle: Gorgeous! Light and fresh. It's a floral.
Wet on ths skin. This is sublime. What is this flower? This is very feminine. Violets is what it reminds me of, but I'm sure it's white flowers because of the name. It's also very expensive smelling. Like a woman that has a lot of money would wear. Classic. There's other aspects in this that I can't even begin to guess. I will need another bottle of this.
What's in it, the suspense is killing me. White, for acting in good conscience and doing our best to give back to the community.
Frangipani, magnolia, cotton flower, osmanthus, crystal musk, ambrette, white orchid, sugar cane, davana, white sandalwood, petitgrain, lavender, and lotus root.
Hmmm, I think it's the frangipani and the cotton flower that I'm getting. Also the sandalwood.
I love this. In a way it's also a bit creamy and orangey to me too.
I'm going to huffing this all night.
Every day we give our dawgs fresh beef bones that have the marrow in them. They've actually come to expect these bones everyday. Last night my husband Jeff says, "I don't think we have any bones for tomorrow."
I say, "Ahh, we probably do. I'll look for some tomorrow."
I say we probably do because we have a fridge in our kitchen, a fridge in one of the spare bedrooms (impossible to get it into the basement-all of my appliances were black and having a white fridge was bothering me to no end about 3 yrs ago, so even though the side by side was only 5 years old, I bought a black fridge.....and didn't want to give up the side by side, hence 2 fridges on the main floor), and a deep freeze in the basement. So out of all of those we probably have some packages of bones buried somewhere. Right?
Nope.
As I was sitting here paging through other blogs to find some interesting ones to follow, I hear this ooomphing and ummpphhing coming from Ava, our 6 year old female GSD. Yep the begging has begun! G-R-E-A-T! Stark was already outside in the backyard enjoying the nice day.
So off I went in search of bones. Nada. I did find some smoked sliced ham shanks, but I don't like giving them pork bones because they splinter.
So I apologized to Ava that we didn't have any and went back to looking for blogs.
Umph, umph, oomph, oooo, oooo ughhhhh. She does it really low voiced, like a cow mooing.
OMG
So I go grab the shanks and there's three in the package. They are sliced about 2 inches thick and are round with a little round bone in the middle. Two of them are frozen together, so I place the stuck ones in her mouth. She starts heading to go out the back door. They like to do that, take their bones out back so they can enjoy them in the yard. Our backyard looks like a dinosaur dig with all the old bones strewn about. LOL
So I follow her to the door with Stark's one measly bone that he gets. She goes out the door and down the stoop and there's Stark seeing that she has something and I can see his nose just going wild smelling to see what she has. I'm still in the house peering around the door corner because I wanted to see what he would do when he realized she had something. Know what he did? he came up the stoop, peered into the screen door window and looks right at me, like, where's mine? bwahahahahahaha
These dawgs are too freaking smart for me.
Ava's fave way to sleep. Please don't look at her naughty bits. ;)

I am reading The Prince of Tides. I remember the movie way back when with Streisand and Nolte. I don't remember much of the movie but I do remember I wasn't too enthralled with it.
The book is excellent! Almost a 'can't put down' type.
Blind pick.
London
Bpal has a whole category of oils that are based on cities and places all over the world. They call it Wanderlust. This is from that series. I have several of the oils from that series: New Orleans, Prague, Kathmandu, Tintagel.....to name a few.
I haven't smelled London yet.
The oil is clear in color.
ROSES! That's all I am getting too. At this point anyway, wet on my hand. It reminds me a lot of Rose Red by bpal. I had to log back onto my bpal forum name to get the name of it from my thread and I just reviewed it a few days ago! Me bad.
BPAL has some of the most authentic rose smelling perfumes I have ever smelled. I mean, they smell EXACTLY like the real thing, as if you were holding the flower in your hand. The petals, the stems and the leaves are all present in some of their oils. It's just amazing how they can create that layered affect.
Yep, this is all roses to me, so of course I love it. I know to some rose smells are not liked within their bpals. Reminds them of old people and wearing it is a thing of the past.
My great grandmother had rose shaped soaps in her bathroom. So yes, to me this brings back memories of an old lady. She was 94 when she died. I just started falling in love with rose scents about 5 years ago when there was only one bottle of my bubble bath left at Walmart and it was rose. I was out completely (you will find as you read this blog I am a big time bath ho) out of any bubble bath and disgustingly tossed it in my cart. But I tell ya, that first bath.....I was in love. And it's been that way ever since.
Let's see what's in this: Venerable Victorian Tea Rose… twisted, blackened and emboldened with wickedness.
Well, it's about frickin time I got one guess completely correct!!! Woohooo! Been trying to achieve that for a year!! LOL
This is a keeper. Not a big bottle winner only because I have a full bottle of Peacock Queen (bpals greatest rose of all time!) and some other imps that are roses too. Yeah, you CAN have too much rose!! LOL!!
I hope if you are reading this, I hope you'll stop and say hi. I made it possible that you don't have to be signed up with blogger to posts comments. :)
I miss you all. I think I've cried heavily 4 times in the last two days. But eh. Tis life I suppose. It tis what it tis.

I took a Lush bath. Check them out at Lush.com.
So now I can do another review!!
I didn't do a blind pick for this one. I always say BAH!, so when I got an imp of
Humbug.....
I've been itching to try it! It also says bah humbug on the label. LOL I think that's adorable.
Anyway it's a little dark in color and I can also tell there's a thicker oil within it it because it's darker and separate from the rest of the oil....like it's heavier. I love that!! Usually means it's a musk or patchouli in there!!!!!!!!! HA!
In the vial it smells a little like a cola or rootbeer.
Wet on my wrist it smells kind of candyish. Still smells rootbeery too. Maybe a twang from ginger in here? It's not at all like I expected---deep and incensey. I think there is just a smidgeon of musk in it though.
To me it like mixing a can of Coke and a can of rootbeer together then adding a pinch of musk and maybe some greenery.
What's in it? The description says: Vanilla licorice.
Yes!! That's it! Rootbeer sucked up through a black licorice vine!
Not sure it's something I'd reach to wear outside the home, so not a big bottle winner. (Big bottle winners are the oils that I need to buy the full size 5ml bottle.)
I have approximately 68 full size bottles and around 400-500 different imps. More than half of those imps I have never smelled. That's why I'm here. To try them ouot and describe them.
I had a thread on bpal's forum in the introductions called 'Hi everyone!' So if you want to see the last year's bpals that I have reviewed, go there. My forum name is also Cattastroficka. You'll see my thread had 5577 views as of yesterday anyway. It's the BIG one! You'll also read stories about my two german shepherds and four cats. But I'll be posting all that crap here now, so I hope you come back!
Oh, and this Humbug? It's not too bad, quite different. I like it but don't love it. I'll keep the imp of it.
So now I can do another review!!
